Interesting method. I've always cut the cable with bolt cutters into two foot sections and pulled the wire out. I will try your method to see if it is easier or quicker. A good pair of snips makes a world of difference. They can seem expensive but once you've used good ones you will realize how hard you've been working with the cheep snips. I've been scrapping for more than ten years now and I still am learning, which is probably why all of us scrapper watch each other's videos. Your videos are extra pleasant to watch because you two are such nice people.

I'm an electrician and have been doing it a while ( like 15 years stripping) When you have alot the easiest way (especially in long lengths is to cut about a foot off and rap the wire around a post or something that won't move and unravel the mc then just pull the whole sheathing off! Works best up to like 50 ft. If it gets stuck bc of a kink just cut half way or wherever you think its getting caught and do the 2 diff peices. Way easier
@presidentharker1899

Came to make this same recommendation but Eric beat me to it. He’s right, you could pull that entire coil of MC off the wire by tying it off and be done with that whole run of wire. Give it a go and you’ll never go back. Good looking out Eric

OMG I can’t even comprehend those temperatures, the coldest we have ever had is minus 10c back in 1971! We have just set a new record though and that is over 4 days in a row of plus 40c. It’s a much more pleasant 32c today. You guys certainly work hard for your money but it’s obvious you enjoy what you’re doing. Love the videos. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺. The best money is free money 💰.

More awesome video guys. I love catching up Tues mornings! As for whether or not your method id the most efficient, I have to be honest and say it beats all the other methods I have learned and/or developed. I certainly will be switching to your method if/when I get back into scrapping. For the trolls commenting on time versus profit, even if you were making $2 an hour, it would still be more money that you would make watching Big Brother, anything Kardashian, Jersey Shore, etc. Just keep doing you. Seriously. What a fantastic way to build your relationship and some personal wealth.

Just a thought. If you use lineman's pliers, the copper wire may be easier to cut. Also, longer lengths will allow for quicker process time. 😀

just find out how much your scrap yard gives you without !! Our scrap yard give's 0.80 cents per pound but bare bright is 3.20 per pound so we strip it and aluminum casing is like 0.35 cents per pound

I guess that ths roll of wire that U cut and into pieces could have been sold for at least 10 Dollars, if not 15. Right as it was. Now after stripping it to bare braids (or wires) and this Al shielding U might get what as scrap metal exactly? 5 Dollars? OK if U wanted to show this stripping and stuff for the video, but technically I'd say that it doesnt make any sence.
