This was an incredible lesson about how to clean/wash the lego pieces. I am extremely impressed and will follow the instructions. Urs

Could you describe how you use the detergent and peroxide? Is the peroxide added to the detergent or in the fabric softener cycle?
@JustABrickInTheBucket

We just do a splash of detergent since the amount of parts we put in are not equivalent to load of laundry. As for peroxide, honestly we do not have a great idea as to whether or not this does anything special while in the washer and just add a half a cup or so with the thought that it will help brighten the parts after we put the wet parts in the sun. Who knows exactly though. We do a separate peroxide bath for very faded or discolored parts which is in a small container with water and hydrogen peroxide in the sun. This helps restore the white or light blush gray color of the parts.

you should be making commercials, you're good at it ;) thanks for the very informative video, question: did you ever had the bad luck that some LEGO parts ended up in your washing machine?
@JustABrickInTheBucket

Oh most definitely! We double back each laundry bag since they rip on sharp pieces so often. Its a HUGE pain when they rip and hundreds of small parts spill out. Think like thousands of studs at the bottom of the washing machine... yeah... that was us once... lol

Lego says direct sun light ruins Lego bricks.

LEGO does say this and it long term exposure does harm LEGO. But as long as you don’t leave them out for days on end you’ll be okay. I’ve used this method for a few years and have never seen poor results. Now if you’re displaying something in direct sunlight that’s definitely a no go. That long term exposure will break down the structure of the LEGO and make it super brittle. Forgive the book, but I wanted to add some clarification on the matter.

I doubt a few hours in the sun is going to do any harm. A bit of common sense here is required

The bags will rip?? 😳

Over time, the sharp edges of the parts start to rip the bags unfortunately. Quite sad. We cannot seem to find heavier duty ones either... Thanks for watching Tom!

Our drying rack is a custom built rack with about $20-$25 worth of materials from the hardware store. We currently do not have a tutorial on how to build it. Sorry

If you use a fan to dry yours I do recommend using a solid box fan. The dual fan I held up was just what I had on hand for the video. Would definitely not recommend it. Depending on the humidity of your climate a strong fan may definitely be faster than outside!
