It's the perfect application of understanding fundamentals and basics (like how anatomically correct the parts of the eyes are) and successfully stylize it! It's so good, as an artist staring at the details she makes is like those baby stimulant videos arrgghh

That's not necessarily a good thing, the current anime industry can't afford to push for more detail given the literal slave conditions most studios have. Just saying this to make you think twice about that push for detail being a good thing (it really isn't). The only way that'd be a good thing is when we don't have people dying or committing suicide due to the horrible working conditions in the industry.
@duner2028

@@duner2028 i seem to have misunderstood your comment, sorry. I hope we can agree that expecting studios to achieve that level of quality is unhealthy and dumb though, especially given the already hellish working conditions in the industry. I'm pretty sure you've heard the horror stories from former staffers (e.g the guy who directed Jujutsu kaisen 0, the beans he spilt on mappa were legit completely rotten). It's not even anime productions that struggle with this, I mean (for an example), how dare the production of invincible season 2 release it in an unconventional release structure to not overwork the animators/s (To be serious though, people did actually complain about that, some unironically saying that the animators demanding less stressful schedules and daring to exercise their rights was a bad thing). Sorry for my scatterbrained response, trying to get my point across about unachievable standards in the animation industry wasn't easy while I'm barely hanging onto consciousness (I'm sleepy as fuck rn😂) Also if you couldn't tell, I'm really passionate about workers rights (arguably everyone should be♥️).
@duner2028
3 ай бұрын
@@icravedeath.1200 oh of course!! The bar for the quality of anime keeps getting higher and higher at the cost of the health and sanity of the animators It truly sucks to know that some of your favorite shows were made at the cost of others suffering Workers rights all the way!! It's so horrible that exploitation is the status quo in the anime industry

Hello, the waterline is a strip of pink skin lining the top and bottom of the eyelids (and the pink skin continues underneath the eyelids); they protect the eye tissues and trap tears inside the eye! They also house the tear ducts, which help absorb excess tears. As for the comment that says no tutorial tells you, the waterline isn't covered much in general art studies (unless they are centered around the eye), but they are an important part of makeup and help enhance or pull together a look (some people put white or silver liner on them to make the makeup look more cohesive). Hope this helped! (Also the lacrimal glands (the inner pink part of the eye) produces tears, not tear ducts, just if you were wondering! These appear often in more detailed/realistic anime styles :D)

I see some people may not know what the waterline is, or this is the first time having heard of them, so here is a rundown: The waterline is a strip of pink skin lining the top and bottom of the eyelids (and the pink skin continues underneath the eyelids); they protect the eye tissues and trap tears inside the eye! They also house the tear ducts, which help absorb excess tears. The waterline isn't covered much in general art studies or tutorials (unless they are centered around the eye), but they are an important part of makeup and help enhance or pull together a look (some people use white or silver liner on them to have the makeup look more cohesive or pop out). Hope this helped! (Also the lacrimal glands (the inner pink part of the eye) produces tears, not tear ducts, just if you were wondering! These appear often in more detailed/realistic anime styles :D)

The inner pink part is actually called the lacrimal caruncle, it's not the lacrimal glands. The lacrimal glands cannot be seen from the outside. The tear ducts are the outlets of the lacrimal glands. The lacrimal caruncle has its own glands (ciliary glands) that create rheum and it also helps to keep your eyes clean from dirt.
