Hi George. Another great video. Like the guy who made the comment below, I remember when you did tacked this job several years ago. Even with the Fill Selection tool, it's still not an easy job, but it's a very good choice for a video tutorial because it covers a number of interesting things in PSE. Keep up the great work. 👍🏻

Thanks Ray, I had a fun time revisiting this old project. The old project was actually the first video I had on KZitem that did well and really got the PSE channel going, up until then I was mostly just posting clips from my training titles. This was one of the first videos I made that was created just for KZitem.

@@HTGPhoto Do you have a similar video teaching how to place another person into an existing photo? So, from two photos of one person, sort of merging them into one photo? I would love to learn how to do that with Photoshop Elements.

Very educational. I can't wait to try the zoom in and out with Alt & The Scroll wheel. When I use the Polygonal Lasso tool, I'm not zoomed in far enough and I never knew about the Alt and Scroll wheel... Always learning from you... awesome video! TY I just tried the Alt & SW but it only works before you start the Polygonal Lasso tool, I thought you could use it during the selection, maybe on the newer version of PSE, I have PSE 15. But I like the Alt & Sw

Hi Debra, I don't know about earlier versions but the scroll wheel trick can be used during the polygonal step in later versions of PSE. But most of the time one zoom setting is enough when using polygonal, so quickly zoom in to the right view and make your selection.

Well done George. This helped me some with me DVD covers. The only problem I have had up till now is with the Clone Stamp. There are times when I will click on an area I want to clone but it will grab something else. Like I will click on a second of grass and for some reason it will act like I grabbed a bit of clothing or something else in the picture. Would this be because I have not masked the area I want to work on??

Thanks! With the Clone Stamp tool, make sure you hold down the Alt key and then Right click on the spot you want to copy from. Also make sure that the correct layer is selected if you have more than one layer. Aside from that you don't need a selection. I am using a selection in this video to get a nice clean edge.

@@HTGGeorge Hmm. I may have to play more and more with the Clone Tool I guess. I am wondering if I am left clicking instead of right clicking and not knowing it. I will have to play with it this weekend. Thanks George. Still loving all these videos. Thanks for the time you spend putting them together.

My mistake, I should have typed Left Click, not Right Click. But the Right Click is a cool trick I have never shown here on KZitem, you will be the first to hear this. When using the Clone Stamp tool you can change the size of the Clone brush simply by holding down the right mouse button and pulling out from the center of the circle or pushing into the center of the circle. It is a great little advanced user trick.

Hello Sir, I am new to Elements and really appreciate your tutorials. I have been trying to follow along with you in this edit but I seem to be running into an issue or difference. When I use the polygonal Lasso it only will allow me to go in straight lines but as I watch you it seems to be allowing you to trace along the curves of for example the girls shirt or the eyes on the fishing rod. Do I need to be using a rollerball mouse for that to work that way or is there something that I should have switched on in the tools that I am missing? Thank you for any guidance you can provide!
@HTGPhoto

Hi, the solution is easy. The polygonal lasso tool only makes straight lines. What I am doing is clicking on spots that are very close together so it is making very short straight lines. Sometimes if you zoom in it makes this trick easier. Just be careful to wait a beat between clicks or the selection will collapse.
