I've been working on restoring an old Howard 901-A tabletop radio from around 1946 to working order. It's nothing special, but it was in absolutely dire shape when I got it. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been used since the 1950s.
After replacing all the capacitors and most of the resistors, I fired it up and it worked without even having to align it! Picked up some local AM stations instantly.
I'm going to restore the speaker cone and the wooden cabinet so it'll make a nice tabletop conversation piece.
