Yeah I know, and I feel like a lot of these youtubers who use loop pedals were probably somewhat inspired by Howie.

Seems like everyone here was going to college in the early 2000s. I was 18 and a freshman in college in 2001 when I first heard this.

It’s 2021 and I haven’t listened to this in years. I got a bootleg copy from a friend in the States when it first started circulating. All these years later and I still marvel at Howie’s genius - I just appreciate it more now. I bought the same Line 6 DL4 via a friend in the UK because of Howie - they weren’t available in South Africa at the time. And so started a lifelong friendship with looping. It also made me plenty of money over the years. So thanks Howie!

I saw this guy in NYC back in 2000 - 2002. He opened up for Edwin McCain at the Bowery Ballroom - fucking amazing. Then ended up headlining the place a year later. Saw Matt Nathanson open up for him as well. Those two were fucking awesome live. He was the master at looping and now everyone is doing it. I miss those days. But great memories. Even have an autographed of his first CD from when he played at the Village Underground, NYC.

That's one of those performances that can't be duplicated. It's purely original. The look on that dudes face clapping at the end was one of mad respect.

I have many bootlegs of shows around this time. Howie was one man tour de force, but he expended a lot of energy. I saw him live after this when he had a band. Don't blame him

Incredible songwriter and musician. Collide is a great song but it really doesn't do justice in terms of his talent. Howie was the first (I believe) to do the guitar and vocal layering live, it was a mind blowing experience the first time I saw it in person. It's a shame he never really got the recognition he deserves.

Brendan McGarrett there are certain true artists who do not get the recognition they deserve. It takes time for some people to wrap their mind of what is there. When so much is put into your form of art and expression is achieved they share with those who search for more. A vision to be captured and interpreted by us. The joy is to inspire others to create and make new boundaries

Man I couldn’t agree more! Well said! It’s too bad musicians like Ed Sheeran get popular but Howie didn’t blow up like that😒 when I saw this performance when I bought this EP, I was so impressed, mind blown & was trying to show it to everyone I knew lol! I just shared it with another friend today 🥰Howie still getting the love! And I’m so jealous you got to witness this in person! WOW!
