I very much enjoyed the style of Oppenheimer's cinematography. The power that subtleties can carry... I love how connected the camera felt to the characters and also how the tone perfectly fits for that world (Oppenheimer's world). The color palette also - styled but natural, so clean, seemingly simple... Just perfection.

I wish the 70mm film option was more available around the country. Of the 30 or so theaters that happen to accommodate this presentation, I happen to live near one. I saw it on 2 other types of formats before seeing it on 70mm film and it was truly a transporting experience. I was really stunned by the impact and wish many others could have the same experience.

Loved the movie but it left me wanting more. As someone whos read American Prometheus I find it strange that Nolan chose to turn the poisoned apple incident into a wormhole joke. Oppenheimer was almost expelled for it but his rich parents influence saved him. And he also tried to strangle one of his friends at one point. Oppenheimer was his own antagonist in many ways. Strauss was a political opportunist in comparison to Oppenheimer's inner demons.

Oppenheimer is a short tail movie. It was successful due to hype, Covid exhaustion and Barbie, the movie they want to see. The good advice is to leave Nolan movies alone on their opening weekend.
