Great new Irish act Hozier called into Today FM to record a live session for The Ray D'Arcy Show. Here they perform their take on the Led Zeppelin classic 'Whole Lotta Love'.

1980redkremlin Don't watch TV, though KZitem should count considering all the advertisement that goes on here. But it sounds idiotic that if someone has good voice and talent and this talent is heard by people, then suddenly that person is shit. Isn't the point of music to be heard? Because by the logic that @Davi Aquino brings to the table, the music was already shit by the time it hit his eardrums.
@1980redkremlin

Funeral Giggle you're right about that dude!
@itsdaviaquino
9 жыл бұрын
Funeral Giggle My comment was t a little misinterpreted here. What I'm saying is that the mainstream record labels control musicians. They tell them what to do, what to wear, how to sing, what to sing, find them producers who won't necessary match their music style, autotune their vocals without consent, put a band together without input from the artist, etc, etc, etc (I could go on for a while). A lot of singers don't care about this but that stuff can be really harmful to talented musicians because it tame their talents.

Carolina, I am totally on the same page as you! I am 63, my son is a musician, toured N. America all through the 90's, so I can only barely imagine how Andrew's parents feel! My son still plays, seeing him this Sat actually, but he is also a dad, a student,a teacher. I truly think Andrew will be making beautiful music for long time...kinda like Sting and others. But I agree, I have never in my life been so touched by music, I simply cannot stop listening. Just turned my Bank manager on to him! My only sadness, is I may never get to see him play live! Too costly for me to travel somewhere to see him play. Maybe he will tour Canada eventually, he will surely fill an arena. Hozier seems to bring out the very best in people, which is simply stunning. Cheers!

He actually did some shows in Canada very recently, but they were already sold out in October, I think. He also did a tour in Canada last year, so there is hope! I saw him twice, in Rotterdam last year and Amsterdam this year, and Ireland is not that far away for me, so I'm lucky. But if you ever get the chance, it's totally worth the efford!!

In my opinion, I would not say it's better than Led Zeppelin. I think it's a good cover don't get me wrong. i think his voice suits the song and I appreciate that he tried to be creative with the song and not just rehash it like a lot of artists will do for a cover version but I don't feel like the various strings and other instruments he gathered here, match the instrumentation of the Led Zeppelin version.
