5:00 yes I for one have this problem. With some amount of twisting force of the keyboard not only track pad click on itself but can sometimes stick to point where you have to depress the trackpad. It does question quality. So when I'm using it on my lap or on my bed I avoid using the trackpad whenever I can to give you the idea. Use a mouse 85% of the time when I'm at a table for best experience. Other than that I love my hp chromebook x211

there was a buzzing sound when u used the internal mic of the device earlier in the video. Was that the mic’s fault or background noise? Love the vid btw
@OctillionthTech
3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, it was the mic's fault. That's actually the reason why I hooked up my Blue Yeti to the X2 11 at the end of the video. The internal mic alone would just have this continuous buzzing in the background. Having said that, I don't quite know what's causing the buzzing. It could be a software problem or it could just be that I got a bad unit. I'm looking into so, if I reach a more concrete conclusion, I'll let you know.

Good Video man! any advice between the duet and this one, the price of the duet is tempting but overall performance and longevity is the main factor which would you/ everyone recommend? I do use my chromebook for browsing , video calls, and media consumption aswell as some stadia
@OctillionthTech

If I have to choose between the two, I'd go with the HP X2 11 over the Duet. As someone who owns both devices, I regularly notice that the HP X2 11 is handling my day to day tasks better than the Duet can. Granted the performance difference isn't as big as I was hoping it would be, BUT the HP X2 11 still does come with better specs and it shows. If you go with the HP X2 11, make sure to only buy it when it's on sale (somewhere in $350-$400 price range is good). The MSRP price of $599 is way too much for this thing.

thanks for sharing your impressions! Any initial takes on battery life? Have you tried docking to an external display?
@OctillionthTech
3 жыл бұрын
I'd say the battery's pretty good. Starting off with the battery charged up to 100%, I get about 8-10 hours of use before the HP X2 11 runs out of juice. For the record, I've gotten that sort of battery life after using it for web browsing, android apps, and some basic linux apps WHILE having the screen on medium brightness. I've tried connecting to an external monitor to it too and the experience has been a bit mixed. On one hand, the actual experience of connecting to the external monitor and using with an external monitor set up has been quite good. No noticeable issues on that front. On the other hand though, there is a weird random bug where suddenly disconnecting the external monitor from the X2 11 can cause the device to lock up. It doesn't happen every time I disconnect, so it's kind of random and Idk what's causing it. It's something that will most likely get fixed with a future Chrome OS update but it's been annoying.

I have the Duet and I'm not a fan of the keyboard. I have slender fingers but found the keyboard to be too cramped for me. I would like to be able to try typing on hp's before making a decision to buy. And, since I think it's a bit overpriced, I may just put it on my wish list! :)

Only the UI is 32-bit because it uses less memory than a 64-Bit UI. The kernel is 64-bit. It's an intentional memory saving choice. It's the same with the Lenovo Duet if you want to Google for more details. It's NOT the same as Windows where 32-bit means the whole os is 32-Bit.

I'm not sure how well the Snapdragon 7c gen 2 runs on ChromeOS, but the 8gb ram is definitely nice to see on this Tablet. I had the Lenovo Duet and it was fine, but I wanted something with more power and ram. Also this one being 1440p and 3:2 ratio should make text look crisp, hopefully.
@OctillionthTech
3 жыл бұрын
Actually, for the record, the HP X2 11 comes with the Snapdragon 7c (gen 1) and not the Snapdragon 7c gen 2. The Snapdragon 7c (gen 1) and the Snapdragon 7c gen 2 are basically the same chip. The only difference is that the gen 2 has a slightly higher CPU clock speed of 2.55 GHz (gen 1 had a CPU clockspeed of 2.4 GHz). The difference is somewhat negligible but I thought it worth pointing out for accuracy. And yea... There have been problems with running Chrome OS on Snapdragon 7c devices in the past, but it's gotten better with time (certainly better than how it was when the first Snapdragon 7c Chromebook came out a few month). A lot of the issues have been or are currently in the process of getting worked out by the Chrome OS developers. The experience just seems to be getting better & better as the updates continue to get rolled out. Of course, there are still limits to the kind of stuff you can do with this kind of chip, but it should be fine for anything that you might do with a Chromebook.

I see that it can't lay flat with kickstand on because of the hinge, but can you flip the keyboard over and use as a tablet (without disconnecting the keyboard)? ...like how the Duet's keyboard flips 360? ...or does the hinge still get in the way?
@OctillionthTech
3 жыл бұрын
After trying this a few times, I can say that you can't do the whole "flip the keyboard over and use as a tablet" thing on the HP X2 11. Whenever I flipped the keyboard over, the keyboard would just disconnect from the tablet. Hope that helps.

Oof. Harsh. Just so you know, you don't have to watch my ugly face if you don't want to. lol. If I thought I could grow this KZitem channel w/o showing my face, I would. Making videos is a LOT easier when you don't have to be on camera AND I really don't like my face that much. Unfortunately, there is a certain style/technique to making good videos that don't show any face and I suck at it. My best shot here is to go with the style I've implemented here. Don't like it? Fine. I get it. Feel free to watch something else instead.

@@NateBraska I'm still liking mine. The HP X2 11 is not super powerful and it's definitely got flaws, but it's also got good build quality and is packed with very premium feeling features. It kind of makes for a balanced, solid experience. If there's a major area of hesitation with this thing, it's the price. $600 is too much. Imo, it should've been priced at $450. The way I see it, today's Best Buy sale (at $400) is an amazing deal and I'm happy to hear that you were able to take advantage of it. I hope your experience with the device will be as positive as the one that I've had with mine.
