Bro, what did you put in the connector area (what liquid did you apply to it)? I have the same laptop, my problem is that the touchpad does not respond well, I have to hit it to make it react or disable or enter Admin. of devices to uninstall the driver and/or restart the PC. But what is the reason for this Touchpad problem, is it due to circuit burns or what? I would appreciate your response. I'm from chile

I have the same laptop, touchpad works in diagnostics screen but doesn’t work in windows, drivers are installed but there are no touchpad settings

Remove the battery and perform a CMOS reset, if it doesn’t help you’ll have to download a HP recovery with the HP recovery tool. It will create a recovery USB stick with proper drivers.

@@PeakRepair cmos reset had no effect, i can get touchpad to work in windows but when I shutdown / restart the laptop crashes and will only reboot if I physically disconnect the touchpad cable

Btw, I have to update the description of my video. I have discovered that a plastic standout is the cause of this issue, you’ll have to cut it out of the bottom cover, it’s placed directly above the touchpad connector. Remove the plastic, apply the solder fix again and do a cmos reset (again). It should work after this in windows.

I've the same laptop. And my touchpad isn't working and showing I2C HID error in device manager. It isn't a driver problem will this fix it?
@PeakRepair

Yes, 100%. Make sure to disconnect the battery. It needs a cmos reset to recognize the touchpad again.

Hello brother, have you had the problem that the touchpad stops working and that it works sometimes when you leave it on a surface, you have to hit the chassis, and/or you have to move the cover/screen for it to respond and also if it is of the problem of HID I2C Device (with the Yellow triangle) that could not be started (Error Code 10)?. In addition, I already changed the touchpad cable for one from an aliexpress bro (yes, check carefully if it is the same cable) and the problem still persisted. But could you tell me, if it worked for you, could you describe how you apply the solder, if only a little and if very delicately, you should use the soldering iron, and remove the piece of plastic that the Bro in the video says in the description? So you can describe to a technician what is happening.

It’s still working but I have discovered an extra step. You have to cut out a piece of plastic out of the bottomcover that rests directly above the touchpad connector. The piece of plastic is rectangular shaped.

Yes, I am using tweezers to loosen connector ribbons and a plastic flathead from iFixit kit to remove battery connector.
