Geekbench 6 scores are over 2300 for single core and over 8000 for multi-core 2. There is ZERO fan noise or heat doing regular office work or using statistical software 3. Battery life is amazing. Thank you Josh for your real life reviews of laptops. Fan noise is such an annoyance and you are the best at taking a serious look into these kinds issues. You nailed it with your point about U series processors being much better choices for thin and light laptops than either P or H series, while many PC manufacturers seem in denial of such an obvious conclusion.
@RK-um9tu

The Dell XPS Plus I have been testing for the past 2 weeks has an i5 -1240 P-series processor There is ZERO fan noise doing basic office work or running statistical programs. Same with the P-series Lenovo, HP, and Samsung laptops I have tested this year. It is not the processor that causes fan noise, it is the activity. Doing video and photo editing activities will generate fan noise. Doing basic office and school work will not generate fan noise. Further all Windows laptops have multiple power modes.

I have this laptop. 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD, i7 1355U, $1500 USD all-in, with pen & pouch. I tried many recent devices before ending up with this one: Surface Pro 9, G14, ThinkPad Z series, etc. I really wouldn't say that this laptop is only for casual use. I'm really not a fan of MacOS (anymore - used to be) and was looking for a nice, thin & light 2-in-1 Windows laptop with an OLED screen. I also wanted USB4 or TB4, good I/O. This laptop works great for coding, photography (Lightroom, Photoshop, Topaz AI), for music recording (Thunderbolt), etc. I find it very reducing and not really helpful for a reviewer to categorize a premium device like this in the "good for web browsing" category, for what, a spinning fan? I do have a 14" M1 MBP, courtesy of my workplace. As for my other personal devices, I possess a Tab S8 Ultra, ZFold 3, and a BOOX Tab Ultra C. My affinity for high-end devices is clear. This laptop fits that bill; unfortunately, this review doesn't. Josh, I genuinely enjoy your reviews and videos, but I feel you may have missed the mark on this one.

Also, every developer is different. If you're doing front-end stuff, this beautiful screen and tall aspect ratio could be clutch, while a data scientist might need something with a little more umph. Me, I'm a second year CS student who's never made my i7-11800h meaningfully spin. Besides, the uni offers us access to their high performance cluster for the course Parallel Computing, for which we have needed to run a 16 core/thread application. Try finding that in a laptop. Overall I don't agree with you @someguy321 that he completely missed the mark, but I think he's shoving the 'developer' group too much onto one big pile. Little nuance might be nice.
@tu.f

My experience is very similar to yours. I got the 2022 model and its great for performance. I think the reviewers point was that if you are using it for anything other than casual use, the fan will ramp up so he advises that people use it casually. I prefer it to my MBP but that's because the MacOS tired me out. The storage also made me not a fan. This is just quiet and easy, until you start gaming or have like 5 desktops open at once, which is fine and completely normal lol

@@SrhLglt The Spectre models (in recent years) seem to have used an anti-reflective glass (not coating) which almost completely eliminates reflections. I have the 2020 Spectre 13" & with very few exceptions i'm yet to see a glossy display laptop which supresses reflections better. Regardless of the lighting conditions & display brightness, you hardly see anything other than what's on screen. I'm just hoping HP renew the 13" Spectre line in 2024 with an AMD processor option. We all know every manufacturer does a refresh annually when a new generation of processors come out. It is very hard to justify giving up my HP Spectre 16 x 360 (16-f0013dx) with 11th generation processor. The one trick that it can't do is the keys "retract" when in tablet mode; a trick that Lenovo came up with on some of the ThinkPad Yoga, don't think they do it anymore though.

When i watch your videos I feel comfortable about buying the pavilion, but other youtubers recommend a lot for students programming the spectre, and I really like the 360 thing as well for the breaks! So knowing that I am a starter, what do you recommend? Do you still think the pavilion is a better option or the x360 will be enough for a student? Looking at reviews in general, I am pretty confident the pavilion one is a great option and not that sure about this guy, I still have some doubts, but on the other hand, I find this one being more fun and you can do more stuff with it, so if you think this is enough for my category, I will buy this one! Could you do a video about macOS vs Windows? You keep recommending Macbooks instead of Windows laptops, because Apple gets all categories right. While I totally agree with you in terms of the devices itself, I sometimes feel like you ignore that the OS is an important factor to consider, too. Personally, I'm a heavy user and I've been prolonging my decision of buying a new laptop for way too long, just because I can't find a device that ticks all the boxes. Hardware-wise, the Macbook Air would be the perfect fit, but I think I cannot live with macOS. Simple tasks like snapping windows to a corner/side just don't work out of the box, and I generally find the way macOS handles multitasking very unintuitive. Furthermore, while Windows (and Android) are very customizable, it seems tougher to change the behaviour on Apple devices in a way Apple didn't intend it to be. This is also the main reason why I cannot imagine switching from Android to iOS. Lastly, something I really dislike about Apple is the fact that they intentionally try to make interoperability as hard as possible. Having an Android phone and a Macbook doesn't seem like a great fit. I would greatly appreciate a video on this topic!

1. MBs don't have touch screens, pen support, 2-in-1 designs, 180 degree screens, OLED screens, 4G/5G, instant on (face recognition), no upgradability, poor repairability. 2. Let's not forget all the class-action lawsuits filed against MBs - cracked screen, green screen, connectivity issues, thermal throttling, key boards, etc. 3. There is a reason MBs only have 8% laptop market share and 99% of corporatins, small businesses, educational institutions, goverment agencies, and nonprofits use Windows laptops and computer.

I bought this laptop. Since they day i got it and using it for almost two weeks it's been very very slow for some reason. I returned it thinking maybe there was some defects with this specific laptop. I returned it but got the same model just a new different one. However the performance of both laptop was very similar, although the second 1 is slightly better and that maybe because i haven't downloaded anything on it. The thing is, downlaoding is fast but one of the most important things is browsing for me, for school work, and in this aspect it's very slow for a 16 gb ram and 512 (SSD?) Storage. I checked it at my school's tech support and used the HP support on my laptop. I optimized it so many times but that didn't fix it too. And my school didn't find any problems with the laptop. Maybe the wifi of my home is the problem, but i have another laptop that's very fast when browsing and i use the same wifi, th laptop is also 3 years older and has 4gb ram, so it doesn't make sense to me how that is faster than this laptop. Do you think i should return this one too or should i keep it? It's such hassle to return a product a second time and the store i bought it from were nice people. I also am not very versed in technology, so i don't even know what to get other than this model. I bought this model because it has very good reviews, but i kind of feel cheated having both laptops of the same model not working. I don't even know if the reviews are actually true at this point.

I have been looking through your channel for laptops reviews and I have to say I am thankful I found it. But I would like to ask if you have witnessed anything like purchase inconvenience or anything of sorts that may affect you from getting a laptop? Cause in my experience specific brands void your warranty if you try to even upgrade your ram or storage unless you go to a service center which in my case can be a city away which is a hassle, and this goes for non gaming laptops. This has led me to personally not choose specific brand in searching for laptops. Currently thinking of buying a laptop and I have checked your previous video (recommended laptops for programmers) for suggestions yet I wish to ask, do you not recommend the Legion Slim 7/ 7i 8th gen or the previous generation? From the review you provided month prior it sounded like a really solid choice. I hope that you will review the gen 8 versions cause from what I have read from their website they seem to have upgraded things you have mentioned would have been preferred back in the gen 7 model (I could be wrong here), but at the same time makes me wonder what compromises have they made. Im sorry, but ultraportables equipped with 12th or 13th generation Intel CPUs have too many significant issues. They either suffer from severe underperformance in the case of U-series processors or are prone to excessive throttling and loud fan noise and useless battery like. Honestly, while I will always choose Android over an iPhone (and have a Galaxy Watch and Buds 2 Pro as well), I'll be hard-pressed to choose a Windows Device over a MacBook if they have the same price. The only reason why I went for a Zephyrus G14 last year is because I play games on a regular basis, and need apps on Windows for my work. Still, even my wife's M2 MBA is much better at everything else.

@@diwaalejandrogalvez796 Yep, if proper gaming is your goal (or running Linux) then Macs are still out of the question. For anything else they're miles better compared price for price. The Dells and the likes clearly got it in their mind to try and surpass Apple on cost (and lack of upgrades), without even providing more power in most cases. And they perform piss-poorly on battery. Mind you, Apple's war against 'repair your own' is starting to piss me off royally. And Samsung and Dell and the other idiots are starting to follow Apple.

@@JustJoshTechhi, can you please help me. I bought this laptop. Since the day i got it and used it for almost two weeks it's been very very slow for some reason. I returned it thinking maybe there was some defects with that specific laptop. I returned it but got the same model just a new different one because I thought the problem was with that one laptop I bought. However the performance of both laptop was very similar, although the second 1 is slightly better and that maybe because i haven't downloaded anything on it. The thing is, downloading is fast but browsing is also very important for me for school work, and in this aspect it's very slow for a 16 gb ram and 512 (SSD?) Storage. I checked it at my school's tech support and used the HP support on my laptop. I optimized it so many times but that didn't fix it. And my school didn't find any problems with the laptop. Maybe the wifi of my home is the problem, but i have another laptop that's very fast when browsing and i use the same wifi, that laptop is also 3 years older and has 4gb ram, so it doesn't make sense to me how that is faster than this model laptop. Do you think i should return this one too or should i keep it? It's such a hassle to return a product a second time and the store i bought it from were nice people. I also am not very versed in technology, so i don't even know what to get other than this model. I bought this model because it has very good reviews, but i kind of feel cheated having both laptops of the same model not doing good on browsing performance. It impacts my productivity on school work so much. I don't even know if the reviews are actually true at this point. Also the laptop I compared it to is a pavilion laptop, it's touchscreen but I don't know if you can use a stylus on it to write. I am thinking maybe I should return the Spectre for a pavilion laptop, but when I searched online, it says spectre is better than pavilion. I don't know what to do. And sorry for making the comment too long.
