Teardown Guide:
1. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 6 screws from the bottom cover:
2 - 5mm length screws (Bottom 3rd)
2 - 8.5mm length screws (Top 3rd)
2 - Non-Removable length screws (Middle 3rd)
2. Using a Plastic Guitar Pick- Carefully Separate the Bottom Cover from the Palmrest. The Palmrest is magnetized, so you may find some difficulty lifting the Palmrest out - Take your time.
3. Unplug the Keyboard and Touchpad cables from the Motherboard.
4. Using a PH#0 screw bit - Remove a total of 3 screws from the Touchpad:
3 - 2mm length screws
5. Using a Plastic Spudger - Unplug the Battery and ALL accessible cables.
6. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 4 screws from the Battery:
4 - 4mm length screws - This will allow the removal of the battery thermal shield. We still need to remove the speakers to access the battery completely.
7. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 2 screws from the Speakers:
2 - 4mm length screws
8. Remove the Speakers and Battery.
9. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 2 screws from the Daughterboard:
2 - 4mm length screws
10. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 1 screw from the Wi-Fi Board: 1 - 3mm length screws
11. Unplug the Antennas and remove the Wi-Fi Board.
12. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 6 screws from the Motherboard: 6 - 4mm length screws
13. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 4 screws from the Hinges:
4 - 5mm length screws
14. Close the Chromebook to an Acute angle then pull the LCD Assembly away from the Bottom Cover.
15. Using a Plastic Guitar Pick - Separate the LCD Digitizer from the Assembly.
16. Carefully lift the LCD Digitizer up then unplug the LCD Cable from the Sensor Board and LCD.
17. Using a PH#1 screw bit - Remove a total of 6 screws from the Hinges:
6 - 3mm length screws
18. Removing the Hinges provides access to the cables.
19. Unplug the Camera Cable and remove the Camera Board with a Plastic Guitar Pick.
