I find 4x4 on 1/10 and below is much better than 2WD. It handles grass much better, much harder to get stuck in loose deep sand, turns better due to front being driven-doesn't understeer so badly and they brake better since front axle is driven=has brakes too. For fast cars 4X4 is kinda safety issue, it's hard to stop with only RWD, and in emergency, with 2WD you generally spin uncontollably.

Hey Josh! That's about $225 :) My logic is even if the truck isnt great, the motor/esc/wheels/radio gear I can use in something else...I bet you could barely buy those seperately for the price!

Yes hopefully! Covid and career haven't left much time recently. We did take it to an RC track and bashed til it broke, with some footage...but really need to do a review with commentary and so on! Stay tuned :)

@@MPRCBBRR that's great thanks. How did you find it? I'm looking to get back into the hobby, haven't had anything rc since my teens (I'm 37 now). But really not sure what to get. I'm on a fairly limited budget of around £250ish. Any recommendations?
@MPRCBBRR

@@JonnyFourDeluxe probably for the money I'd recommend a Traxxas Rustler. You can pick up an XL5 new for 220ish. Mainly as they have an incredible amount of spares support and sooo many ways to modify them to your taste/driving style. This seems good especially for the money but spares just arent there yet and there more than likely wont be any upgrade parts, the aftermarket seems to be for traxxas, arrma and the main brands.

@@MPRCBBRR thank you that's really helpful. I had been looking at the Kyosho Mad Van but the spares are constantly out of stock so I don't think I'm going to get one of those.

Would this car be good for the beach want some fun going on a holiday have a 250£budget I thought of the ftx zorro brushless but this looks more fun⛱?
@MPRCBBRR

I wouldn't recommend rc-ing on a beach much overall, it seems like a cool idea but the combo of saltwater (conductive and corrosive) and then sand killing bearings and gears is a nasty combo! If I was to build a beach basher it would be something like a Traxxas Rustler or Slash 2wd. The motors are hung over the back out the way, 2wd so not as much sand being thrown into the chassis by the front wheels, and also less to maintain after a run as far as drivetrain :)

Does it have metal spur / drive gears? Thanks
@MPRCBBRR

Hiya! All metal gears and diffs except spur. Which to me makes sense as you need 1 sacrifical part! When mine wears or goes for the 1st time I will investigate compatibility with other brands and so on for a metal version.

is my heatsink meant to cover the gaps on the side of the engine? I
@MPRCBBRR

Gaps must mean you have the brushed version...ideally not, but you should have a gap at opposite sides of the can so will only be covering one. The heat generated will be less than a brushless setup more than likely anyway.

Hello,can it go to 3s battery without problems ?
@MPRCBBRR

Hiya yes it is 3S capable straight out of the box, designed to run 7.4v 2S or 11.1v 3S. One of the reasons I bought it was that I already had a good supply of 3S batteries :)

Have you managed to run the truck yet, if so your thoughts on this cheap truck.
@MPRCBBRR
3 жыл бұрын
Hiya yes we gave it a run at Paddlesworth RC track but covid has really slowed our meeting/recording time down. It took a good beating and only broke a front driveshaft, but that was a full on, 3S powered, full throttle awful landing after hitting a ramp flat out on the track! It handles and jumps well and is decently quick. To be honest even just for the radio gear, motor and electronics to donate to another truck it is great value! Downside at the moment...spares arent that common yet. We will do a proper review...2020 sucks for playtime!
