#greetingsfromSerbiaZbyglus The Cathedral of Saint Sava (Serbian Храм светог Саве Hram svetog Save; actually Sanctuary of Saint Sava or Temple of Saint Sava)[1] is a neo-Byzantine style monumental Serbian Orthodox church in Belgrade. With a covered area of 4830 m² it is one of the largest orthodox churches in the world.[2] With an inner dome diameter of 30.5 m, the cathedral connects to the dome in the direct structural model of Hagia Sophia. The cathedral is designed as a classic central room with four conches and dedicated to the first Serbian archbishop and national saint of Serbia, St. Sava (1175-1236). It was built on the plateau of Vračar, a 134 meter high hill in the south of Belgrade city center, which can be seen from afar, on the spot where Sinan Pasha allegedly had the mortal remains of Saint Sava burned in 1595. The church belongs to the Archdiocese of Belgrade and Karlovci of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
