Glad to see someone who still likes the bigger belts instead of just the inner belt

Yeah it seems like everyone's running the inner/outer belts nowadays. I'll probably keep running the bigger war belts unless some revolutionary new belt system comes out in the future.

Used the SlimGrip in Afghanistan through months of patrols. Had no durability issues and it was extremely comfortable compared to an inner/outer (particularly because I have a bony iliac crest and no butt). Unfortunately, I did find that it would occasionally ride up when mounting/dismounting, as you and I have a similar build. A holster with thigh-strap may have helped, or police style belt-keepers attached to my thin uniform belt. Either way, excellent breakdown of the product and I agree with the points made. Hope you continue to enjoy it!

Thanks for the comment! Glad you liked the video, and cool to hear this same belt held up through all that.

Yes this is interesting, my belt is 30 years old and I’m old now I’m putting together a new one thanks.

Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video. That's impressive to run a belt for 30 years, best of luck in setting up a new belt.

On the laser cut, since it doesnt have those suspender loops, just weave it through the molle slots and the bring under and up. I just had a thought

That's a very good idea and would work. I'd be concerned about the slight loss of usable MOLLE but the laser-cut version does have a bit more space so it might work out.

You should do an Eotech overview of the different models and a review of the one that you own im thinking of getting one because they supposedly help with astigmatisms

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not able to say for sure whether they'd work better for astigmatisms though as I've read conflicting results from people with astigmatisms and their experience with holographic sights, and it's not something I'm able to test myself. I think the best option there would be to see it in-person at a gun store. As far as an overview though, that's a good idea, and it's something I'll probably do in a couple weeks once I get it planned out. I do have access to an older EOTech I can use for comparison to talk about some other differences between their different models.

I try to keep my warbelt light two pistol mag pouches, one rifle mag pouch, my ifak in the back, holster on my right side, I keep my dump pouch on my left far back on the cumberbun on my plate carrier, I have a two piece warbelt from wartech, I never mind the two piece set up, I have a wartech warbelt with suspender system for over coat set up I wear a slick plate carrier with zero pouches under the coat.

Sounds like a good setup. I've been working on getting my plate carrier to work well over my coat recently and have been meaning to lighten up my belt a little bit too. I have a few different chest rigs and a plate carrier set up for different rifles so I try to keep the common items on my belt (also works well for the concept of it being first line gear), but it does get a little crowded.

What is your waste sizing?

I wear a US size 32. I went with a Large inner Rigger Belt and a Medium on the actual Slim-Grip belt.
