What is the meaning of the lyrics and dance of the peco PECO part?
@monchi_metal
Жыл бұрын
@@jasongamer8649 So, the song is about the work culture im Japan, where you often have to work long hours and it is seen bad to leave when you are supposed to. That's why you say お先に失礼します (Osakini shitsureishimasu) when leaving work. Peko peko means hungry, but it also has a different meaning, which makes more sense for this song, which is being servile/bowing repeatedly. Edit: I don't think that the dance itself has a meaning, but I could be wrong about that.

I think the fundamental misunderstanding here is BM and Hanabie are taking two fundamentally different approaches to song writing. Not to mention BM doesn’t even consider itself “heavy metal” in the traditional sense so they don’t follow those conventions of how such music should be utilised. Hanabie maintains a consistent heaviness while BM fluctuates radically. Mainly because BM is and always has been a theatrical art form with music tailored for live performance first, metal musicianship and technicality second. They are very pop in their approach but when they get heavy, they go heavy AF because the contrast is that extreme. The breakdown in their widely popular signature song, Megitsune, makes this very apparent as a prime example. Also, your comment comes across as someone who has never actually seen a BM concert. They are reputed as having one of the most highest energy performances on the metal scene. I get wanting to prop up Hanabie, hell the reason I am here is because I am playing their music while I am at work and looked through the comments on break. But doing so at the expense of Babymetal who is only bringing more traffic to the Japanese metal scene, only harms the smaller bands in the end.

What I love is I don't have to know the lyrics or speak Japanese to understand the message. The videos are done so well, I am pretty positive the message gets through. This one is obviously about wanting to change the work culture, or at least not participate in it. "REIWA DAG" is a desire to return to classic dating and romance, a condemnation of booty on demand. "We Love Sweets" is sugar addiction, but could easily be applied to substance addiction in general. "Sentimental Heroine" although short, I feel that song is the most layered. The surface level is about how exhausting it is to have to cover your true self up and keep up a perky appearance, but outside of basic womanhood, it could apply to the Idol culture and of course substance abuse. The make-up used to cover the marks, the sallow skin and sunken eyes...a brilliant onion of a song. I'm forgetting a few of the songs with videos, but the one with the girls dancing in the background I would assume is about Japan's sensitivity to trends, practically be pressured socially to conform to the newest trends. That's how I've interpreted the music, at least. Only been listening a little over a week and I'm totally obsessed with them. Got all their songs on Amazon Music, hoping to buy their album next week and I am planning to see them in Virginia if they aren't coming to California this year. Yukina is so gorgeous 🥰. She is a goddess 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

@@christopherjohnferrer3771 Thank you. I listen to em obsessively lol, so I just ended up analyzing what lyrics I knew, coupled with the visuals in the videos. Mulled em over and that's what I understand them to be. I'm curious of others interpretation of their songs. Did you come to the same conclusions or did you get something else from them?

@@christopherjohnferrer3771 Yeah I think being aware of Japan's social issues makes it easier for me to understand the meaning of their songs. I'm sure a lot of Americans aren't all that aware of these stigmas, so they just take em at face value or apply western thought to them. I'm sure some people see this as feminist or commie propaganda, but that's only if you're viewing through a western lens. Understanding the difficulties they face are far different than what you'll find even from US to Germany. We have sort of homogenized the western world with little actual differences culturally, but somewhere like Japan where you are shamed for not spending all your time with work and your work peers is going to have a much different view of the world.

When it comes to metal and rock, Japan is a breath of fresh air. A lot of music these days are formulated and stale. More interested in going through a tried process of production keeping within a genres than moving out. Every time I find bands from Japan they are fun and exciting. Prepared to mix, come up with music that pop, a good day out. Hanabie is one of these bands that I enjoy following to see what they come up with next. Like this one.

They're basically only just starting out and they already go this hard. I love J-metal for the subgenre blends they come up with that no western band would dare try. I also love a good female screamer. This is a fantastic sound, and if they keep it up they will go far. 花冷えの「原宿コア」ってオリジナルジャンルもYUKINAさんのデスボイスもすごいです。初耳ですけど、この音が大好きです。これからも頑張ろう!
