You need a good pair of pliers and a bigger net bro, those gator blues are demons and will get you bloody in a heartbeat, awesome video, fish on and tight lines !

Have you tried the MTK tackle flutter spoons..... I use them and they produce well... They have all the common colors plus 3-4 custom colors. I have a few of the 9" ones. They sell the blanks as well. That is what I purchased.... very reasonable... they are on the marketplace. Tight lines up there

That day I was running 2 Tsunami carbon shields 7ft med-heavy action paired with a GSBX2 50 Van Staal and a penn slammer 5 3500 …20lb braid on both reels with 30lb leader line……

I’ve been lucky enough throughout life dealing with bluefish like this and have never been hooked…only time I’ve been hooked was stepping on a treble hook barefoot and casting and snagging myself in the back of my head with a snapper popper BUT your right I need to be on the safer side because one day it can happen….
