@@letashajohn Having been an optician for many years I can tell when someone looks comfortable wearing glasses and when they don't. You honestly look more comfortable wearing glasses than you do without glasses. So if you've always wanted to wear glasses then you should consider wearing glasses fulltime. You ay not know this but blue light blocking glasses also includes an AR coating (anti-reflective) as well. By having those coatings on your lenses and in front of your eyes very well could reduce the migraines even more. And they would in no way do any harm to your eyes. If you hated wearing glasses that would be completely different, but you really seem like someone that wants to wear glasses. Here's my suggestion, instead of only wearing glasses when doing screen work why not try wearing glasses form the next two weeks fulltime. In other words put your glasses on shortly after you get up and don't take them off until your back in bed that night. After two weeks of wearing glasses all the time you will know if the migraines were less frequent and how it felt wearing glasses full time. If you do decide to see how much effect your glasses might have in reducing the migraines I suggest you wear the first pair in public as your fulltime pair the other pair only when at work doing screen work. The first pair is clearly a lighter weight pair which should make them more comfortable wearing as fulltime glasses. Also they really look the best on you as well

Always great to receive a free gift and especially when it's something as useful as glasses are. Even though you don't wear prescription glasses, you do benefit from wearing blue light blocking glasses. Even more so considering you get migraines. I'm 74 and I am very happy to say that I have never had a migraine, and never want one either, and I can't even remember the last time I even had a headache. I consider myself lucky. Do you get them bad enough that you need to lay down in a room with the lights off to get any relief? So you chose two pairs of glasses with the blue light blocking coating and two pairs of sunglasses. as your free pairs. Now as a former optician I'm going to review your review, sort of anyway. I really like your first pair on you. They are a perfect width which is very critical for glasses to look good and fit properly. Your eyes couldn't be anymore centered than they are in the lenses. So i only see one thing to be critical of and I think you will agree when i point it out. They need a slight bit of adjusting because they sit a bit too high on your nose. What that results in the top of the frame is completely covering your eyebrows. I'm sure you don't want your eyebrows covered like that. It's a very simple fix but I suggest having it done by an optician or an optical assistant. They can adjust the frame so it will sit a tiny bit lower on your nose and that will the lower the top of the frame slightly below your eyebrows. You can take these glasses and any other glasses you have to any optical store and have them adjusted or even a fitting done at no charge. They won't care where your glasses came from. That goes for your mother when she orders her glasses, with your help. Remember that every Walmart Super Center has really nice vision centers right in the front of every store. But you can go where ever you choose. I saw a reply from you to someone where you said you were loving your glasses and that you always wanted glasses. I'm assuming you weren't meaning you wanted glasses just to look at sitting on shelf or your desk but that you've always wanted to wear glasses. Well even though you don't have a prescription that doesn't mean your glasses aren't necessary. If you get migraines and the blue light blocking is helping to reduce those headaches then you have every reason to wear glasses as much as you want to. In fact if you read my reply I had a suggestion for you about that as well. If you still feel guilty about wearing non-prescription glasses you can always put a very weak prescription into your glasses that won't do any harm to your eyes. Doctors often have patients that seem to have completely perfect eyesight based on their ability to see and read the eyechart perfectly. But they claim they have trouble when driving at night with driving and not being able to see road signs as well as they always used. A doctor can't ignore that issue. So they prescribe a -.50 SPH in both eyes with no CYL or axis numbers. They also recommend an AR coating (anti-reflective) which by the way you have on your glasses since it comes with the blue light blocking coating. Anyway all that prescription really does is provide the patient with slightly better than perfect vision 20/15. I'm sure you may have heard people say they have 20/15 vision. Anyone that gets lasik comes out with at least that and sometimes even 20/10. So it would in no way do any harm to your eyes and then you would be able claim your very slightly nearsighted. For the record it would actually improve you vision when driving at night no matter how good is currently. Oh and by the way if you would rather have an optometrist prescribe you with those glasses all you need to do is tell the doctor you are having trouble seeing when driving at night. Then do the eye exam to your best ability. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me at jimboice14yahoo.com

Thanks for the info Jim very informative! I've had migraines that have lasted up to 3 days before. I literally couldn't stand or move the whole time and had to have a family member help watch my kids ..thats only ever happened once though..they usually last afew hours and I have to lie down in the dark and try to sleep if I can. It can be an absolute nightmare. I always feel awful for a day or two after as well. I think the issue with it on my nose is the bump I have..I broke it when I was 6 and it has a large lump in the middle which you can only really see form the side. Not sure if that's the issue or not but it could be! I love glasses and have always wanted them for some reason I feel far more productive with them on! Totally get what you say about the night driving though! I really do struggle to see the roads. I'm usually home before dinner time anyway though so it's not really an issue

@@letashajohn I know when migraines are bad enough be treated with shots to reduce the pain. So by reducing light rat from entering your eyes by wearing glasses with coatings on the lenses could actually help with that. It couldn't hurt to try for a couple weeks, then if there was no improvement you could go back to wearing them as you normally do, . I had quite a few patients that had the bump issue due to broken nose. but I was still able to do an adjustment on their glasses to have them sitting in the correct position on their nose. Remember that when buying glasses at a local optical store an optician or optical assistant will spend several minutes with you checking the fit of your glasses and adjusting them so they feel as comfortable as possible to wear as well as look good on you. Buying glasses the glasses come in to everyone the same way and as you know everyone's head and face aren't the same size. This is going to something to consider when ordering glasses for your mother. Speaking of, do you know if your mother wears bifocals or progressives or just single vision glasses? If she wears bifocals or progressives I have one tip I highly suggest you both take in consideration when choosing her glasses Do everything possible to choose a frame has the adjustable nose pads. Here's why For bifocals or progressives the lenses have two and three different prescriptions in each lens. The upper area, and the biggest area, is for distance vision, then if she wears progressives they will have an intermediate area for things not really at a distance but not considered as close either, And lastly the lower area i called the "add" which is for near vision such as reading a book or sewing. Bifocals only have two areas and don't have an intermediate area. So the height of the lenses in front of her eyes is critical for her to be able to see those areas properly through her lenses. So the best of assuring that to \happen is by having they nose pads adjustable to position her glasses up or down her nose as needed. Now were only talking adjustments of maybe 1/8" or 3/16" up lor down but that slight change could make a world of difference to her. A frame that has the molded nose pads doesn't allow for any adjusting and you then are only able move the frame up or down the nose. I'm assuming she will first be getting an eye exam, unless she has already done that, but either way be sure to remember to get not only a copy of her prescription but also her PD measurement as well. Also since she currently wears glasses here's my tips on helping her select her glasses. Using her current glasses if you look on the inside of the temples you will see a set of three numbers on one of them. Those numbers are the size of the frame. Here are what each number is. The first number is the width of one of the lenses in her glasses. The second number is the bridge size, or the part that fits on her nose. The last number is the temple length. All of theses numbers are in millimeters and everything related to glasses is in millimeters. So those three numbers should look something like this (50 - 18 - 135) Now by matching her numbers with glasses you find on line should provide her with really nice fitting pair of glasses. Now in addition to that a nice second check using her glasses is to measure across the face portion of her glasses from the far outside right to the far outside left in millimeters. That should be something like 128mm - 132mm smaller or larger possible as well. The websites also show this as well. and the closer you get to matching that size the better the fit. As an optician, I always hearing someone say they love glasses especially when that person was someone that didn't need glasses, but always wanted them. I can appreciate how you would feel more productive when wearing glasses. In a work environment I cans see how you would feel more productive when wearing glasses. You would tend to consider your glasses as a work essential. And now lastly. So as it turns out what I was suggesting as a possible way of getting prescribed glasses is in fact a real issue you already have. That's actually an early symptom of nearsightedness. So I do you mind me asking you when you last had your eyes checked by a optometrist? I would suggest that even if it was less than a year ago that you should make an appointment get your eyes examined, maybe at the same time as your mother, and when you do be sure to tell them that reason you are their for an eye exam is because you don't feel your night vision is nearly as good as it should be. I'm positive that alone will get you prescribed glasses even if you're able to read the 20/20 perfectly. Being able to read the eyechart in the doctors office isn't the same as being able to read road signs after dark. Now of course it's possible to you may not be able to read the 20/20 line which of then you would know you would be getting glasses. Now if you aren't planning on getting your eyes examined anytime soon. Then you can do it yourself. Just go on-line, maybe at the same time your ordering your mothers glasses and order your own glasses with at prescription I mentioned in my earlier comment. That's the prescription your doctor would prescribe you, providing you were able to read the 20/20 okay. You may not be aware but many of the on-line glasses sites are now offering driving glasses for the exact same problem you have. I can assure you that if you order a pair in that -.50 SPH prescription you will be shocked by the difference they will make with driving at night. This prescription won't do any harm to your eyes and you can choose when you want to wear them or not wear them. Even full time considering how much you seem to love glasses but you clearly should be wearing them at night and when driving. These glasses would sharpen up anything at a distance for you. That would include things like going to a concert, sporting event or to the theater. FYTOO lenses for their regular glasses includes an AR coating at no additional cost. But you may want to get your glasses with prescription as well s the blue light blocking coating. If you have any questions for me about your eyes, your mother's eyes or glasses for either one of you please feel free to ask me hereor by e-mail jimboice14@yahoo.com Sorry for such a long reply and yet I feel I hd more to say to say.
