"Container ship sinks into ocean five miles from shore!" The ship obviously, and gradually, disappears out of sight; yes. However, its position of flatness to the water is maintained throughout, as is evidenced by the upper portion of the ship remaining proportionate as it sinks downward. At no point did I see a 'bottom up' of this ship; nor did I see the giant mask tipping in a downward position as would be inevitable if it were going downward into a curvature. Not sure why this vid is being touted as irrefutable 'proof' of a spinning-ball earth, but whatever. Oh, and *the 'birds'! I noticed a lot of birds flying just over the ocean water*. Amazing how the incredible degree of gravitational force, capable of retaining the entire ocean to the earth's surface, mysteriously leaves these little creatures completely unaffected

Flat earthers should ignore the ship and look at the waves. They should get smaller and smaller as they get further away... until the individual waves cannot be seen... but that's not what happens. @robertfish4734

When you look down a rail road track and the two rails seems to meet each other, then disappear over the horizon, is that just like a river water fall also? Perspective understanding is still available on the internets though.

@@heythere9371 If there truly were a curved horizon, once the ship is over the impossible wall of water, there is no bringing it back...because there is this wall of water,that has to be there, however, if the ship is over this wall and it reappears due to a magnified lens, THAT PROVES THAT THE CURVED WALL OF WATER DOES OT EXIST. What we see here is the physical power of optics to see further across the FLAT plain. Waves be damned, if you are watching telephone poles while driving along a flat desert highway, do you imagine that the far distant poles are smaller compared to the pole that is closest to you? Ah, but when you reach the next one it is the same as the previous one (within a reasonable tolerance). This continues as long as you drive, teaching you irrefutable proof of perspective. That is, distance objects, although they look smaller, they aren't. I fail to see that your point proves otherwise.

@@heythere9371 You are not a person that understands perspective. How can you possibly justify the fact that in this video, the ship is over the horizon in the beginning shot, totally, completely over the water fall as you imagine, then with a bit of zoom, it is pulled back from the water fall into full view? So how is this denial? Don't you see what is on screen? That seems more of an obvious denial to me, or ignorance of how things work. (Not stupid, but ill informed) It is only possible that because you are completely oblivious to the rules of vision that you cling to the straws of deception, like, trying desperately to prove that we live on a rapidly spinning globe, surrounded by the incredible infinite vacuum of space. This precept is impossible to begin with and disproves the heliocentric system completely. The latitude where I live is moving over 800 MPH, faster than the speed of sound. Boyle 's law has never been disproved, always works and yet we have a pressurized atmosphere, with out containment, next to a nearly perfect vacuum, 2 hydrogen atoms per cubic meter empty. That is impossible. Before you say gravity, you defeat gravity with every inhale with a very much weaker difference in pressure, or when you sip a liquid through a straw even more so as the density is even greater. Gravity is not your savior, it is a con and the only reason is to allow for not believing what your eyes see. So, one really must have one hell of a lot of faith to hold such silliness without questioning. Remember, with out faith, no cons would ever be successful.

I have a few questions for anyone who thinks the Earth is flat. BTW, question #20 uses this video. 1. On a globe, the circumference of the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn are equal, but, on a flat earth, the tropic of Capricorn would be 70% longer. What makes the sun slow down from December to June then speed up from June to December year after year? In other words, why are days longer in the summer and shorter in the winter? 2. What keeps the sun and moon in a circular motion above a stationary flat earth? 3. What causes the solar analemma? kzitem.info/news/bejne/y4eKm4yInaSiqaw 4. If the sun and moon move because of magnetism, why do electronics still work on a flat earth? 5. Wouldn't solar flares come mighty close to the flat earth? 6. If you can see both the sun and moon during a selenelion eclipse, and they are at their maximum separation, why can't you see them all the time on a flat earth? 7. How can the shadow of a solar eclipse move from west to east on a flat earth when most flerfers claim that the moon moves much slower than the Sun? 8. How can the earth's shadow fall on the moon at all (for a lunar eclipse) when the sun and moon are both 3000 miles above the flat earth? 9. How come the sun and moon disappear from view for hours at a time if they are 3000 miles above the flat earth? Or how do the sun and moon disappear behind the horizon on a flat earth? 10. If the Sun or moon leaves my perspective, why can I see the stars behind or above them? 11. What causes the phases of the moon? 12. What causes the tides? 13. What causes some planets to show a retrograde motion at times? kzitem.info/news/bejne/tYFv1a6Aknd9hW0 14. Why do Venus and Mercury have phases as our moon, but Mars and Jupiter do not? 15. How do the other observable planets disappear and reappear on a regular basis if the flat Earth is not moving? 16. Why are there two fixed stars (Polaris and Sigma Octantis) with a Coriolis Effect? Notice the clockwise motion in the southern hemisphere and the counter clockwise motion in the northern hemisphere, and why are the stars the same in the three southern continents? Why can't everyone on the flat earth see the same stars all the time? 18. Why do the stars in the flat earth model firmament dome always move horizontally anti-clockwise over the whole earth? 19. What happens to a super nova in the firmament? 20. What about the curve? kzitem.info/news/bejne/qKZ3rYymrqVynIY 21. What causes a spherical drop of water? 22. What about tectonic plates, earthquakes, and volcanoes (especially calderas) on a flat earth because no flat earther seems to know what is beneath the surface? 30. What about the 'firmament' and 'the four corners of the earth'? answersingenesis.org/astronomy/earth/does-bible-teach-earth-flat/ 33. How can the firmament on a flat earth rotate faster at the base than the globe Earth at the equator? 34. If you believe like Eric Dubay, why does each and every star make exactly one complete orbit of the flat earth every night? Maybe that proves that the flat earth is not infinite. 35. The zoom brings the ship from - over the horizon - so it is pretty much full scale at 15 plus miles away. Gradually the ship seems to disappear in the zoomed mode, exactly like when it was un-zoomed at the beginning. So, what does this prove? That the camera has limitations just like the naked eye over distance. What the hell? Remember the ship was - below - the horizon at the beginning... Here is the problem that globe believers don't seem to understand when it comes to determining if an object has gone over or into the horizon. In the flat earth model, objects disappear by perspective, shrinking into the vanishing point of the horizon. In the globe model, objects are directly blocked by the earth's curvature. Evidence for the flat earth is long distance objects that cannot be seen due to the earth's curvature. Evidence for the globe earth is blurry photos of objects supposedly being cutoff by the horizon. The problem with the evidence for the globe, is it's not actual evidence for a globe. If you were expecting a globe earth, you would expect that the distance to the horizon is not the limit of perspective, so showing blurry objects just proves that it is the limit of perspective on a flat plane. The real challenge is to show a close up photo of an object cut off by the horizon, not a blurry one. On a globe the horizon is a set distance away and should not be the limit of perspective.

@@journey_boundYT Nice to meet you. I'm from the USA. I won't bore you with wallaby and dingo references. Well, I promise no more than that last sentence. Vanishing point is a borrowed term for an artistic representation of 3D objects. In the classic single vanishing point example, a point at infinite distance is chosen to guide lines drawn parallel to the line of sight, no matter the offset. This makes rectangular prisms with one face orthogonal to the viewer (such as a number of buildings in a town) easier to represent faithfully, provided the scale of smaller objects in the distance is reasonable. A simple division of the length of the line divided by the distance from the viewer to the line will do in a pinch. The important part of that whole thing is that bit about the vanishing point being a point at infinite distance. A vanishing point is never at finite distance. Additionally, vanishing points only describe the projection onto a 2D surface of lines parallel to the line of sight reaching out to that point. The scale of the object is always uniform across all dimensions as the object moves into the distance. Again, the vanishing point is an artistic guide, an arbitrary construct. Using it to describe physical phenomena skips the fact that the point itself is at infinite distance as well as the entire field of optics. While objects with parallel lines that are not on a plane orthogonal to the viewer do appear to converge to a point, that is merely a consequence of how those lines are actually projected onto a plane at all points along those lines. Optics, by the way, is the body of knowledge that accurately describe how all cameras focus light onto a sensing material (CCDs, CMOS light sensors, film, etc.). You may also see the term perspective thrown about. This is a type of projection onto a 2D surface that uses vanishing points (one or more). If all lines are made up of only either lines parallel to the line of sight to a vanishing point or lines on a plane orthogonal to the viewer, you would only need one vanishing point. You would need as many vanishing points as you have angles between lines and a plane orthogonal to the viewer. Again, these are artistic guides and are observed merely as a consequence of how light is projected onto a 2D surface. A vanishing point is not its own separate physical entity or region of space.

Perspective. More zoom = it would appear again just like it would disappear if you zoomed out in the middle of the video.

More zoom would make the water in front of the ship disappear. Noted.

No amount of extra zooming would bring the ship back into sight - you must have some type of cognitive impairment to even think it would.

The only thing I can’t take is the pathetic shake while recording. If you want to represent us ball earthers steady that grip boy! The flerthers are going to have a hay day with that unstable capture. Great attempt but Do us proud next time!

That’s the best I could do. You try driving two and a half hours, then zooming out to a 65x optical zoom on an aluminum tripod in the sand on a windy beach and show me you can do better. It’s near impossible to keep it perfectly stable at that zoom level. And you know as well as I do that shaky or not, you can’t change a flerfers mind. I’m pretty sure that if it’s good enough for Globey McGlobeface to use in his debunking videos it’s good enough for you.

FeLiNe418 at 0:11 the cameras telescoping lens is fully extended. At 0:17 the cameras digital zoom has reached its limit. It does not zoom any more after 0:17. See I know that because I’ve used a camera before. Also do notice that there is a ridge of waves that the observer is unable to see over that remains the same size throughout the video after 0:17.

It does appear to get smaller - simply clicking between 5:00 and 10:00 shows this. However the ship was filmed at between 4 miles and 6 miles distance. How much smaller would you expect it to get?
@jasonlitherland4270

arthur lewis haha I mean.... I’d expect it to get two miles smaller. Zoom maxes out at 4 miles, and then the boat goes two miles further away. Why don’t you do a test where you film your car going two miles away and let me know how much smaller it gets haha I mean seriously. Hold on I’ll grab the link to the video I made about this

It's the camera that is being lowered while zooming in to make the water line seem to bulge. The height of the camera ought to be the same throughout, which is clearly not the case here. That's not a true horizon that is being captured. This is not what we see when we actually zoom in to a ship sailing away from a uniform eye-level height! You have to stoop to dishonesty to prove you live on a globe. What a shame!
@dww0013

sishrac You think I could actually lower the camera in small amounts like that. Have you ever zoomed in with a 63x optical zoom? It’s very very sensitive. Once zoomed it can’t really be touched at all. Moving up and down would become very obvious and shaky. Try it yourself. I don’t need to lie. I’m all about a good conspiracy but a flat earth is not reality.

@@sishrac "It's the camera that is being lowered while zooming in to make the water line seem to bulge. " If that was the case, we would easily observe white crest of broken waves closer to the coast (visible at the beginning of the video), and probably pease of the sandy coast. "The height of the camera ought to be the same throughout, which is clearly not the case here." If you ever had an option to operate a camera with high zoom lens, you would have known how difficult it would be, without getting extremely shaky video, and that doesn't happen here. "That's not a true horizon that is being captured." There is no such thing as "true" or "false" horizon, horizon is the line connecting the ground with the sky, and it is different for any observer at different height. "This is not what we see when we actually zoom in to a ship sailing away from a uniform eye-level height!" Actually, this is exactly what we can see when we zoom in on a ship sailing away from uniform eye-level height, and there are numerous videos on KZitem showing that. "What a shame! " When a grown up person dismiss all the knowledge we have from science, and blindly believes to some crazy conspiracy theory, then it is a real shame. "BTW, I personally care only for truth" You wouldn't recognize "truth" even if you stepped on it.
