Food of the sea are probably brilliant for calligraphy, being between watercolour and gouache! A must try for me I think! All the paints are amazing, and inspiring to buy and test, and even to try my hand at making my own paint for unique calligraphy commisions!

I have two sets of Fold the Sea watercolors and I adore them! They do benefit from having a little time to warm up under a drop of water before I begin painting, but nothing like the issues you were having with the aqua gouache. Char makes amazing color selections in her sets and I am a huge fan of all of her sparkly paints! I also really appreciate how well they blend together both on the paper and on the palette. Thanks for putting out such a great look at so many different brands available-I have several I will be checking out now. And a huge thank you for noting which brands smell and of what-Clove is one of those strong scents which can set off my migraines, and I really appreciate knowing in advance which paints to avoid because of this!!

This gives me an idea of what to expect once I start making paints! Some of these seem creamier than others and I can’t help but wonder if those creamy ones have a larger dose of honey in the binder??

Thank you SO MUCH for getting into these. I've been waffling on trying a couple of handmade watercolor makers...now It looks like I'm going to be stuck waffling over a few more now that I know about just how much good paint is out there, but these videos will help that process immensely!

I was really hoping to see Dark Bee (Alchemy Soul Arts on Etsy) watercolors, as I think she has the most unusual colors, but not necessarily primary or mixing colors. Her sets are so ethereal. I just ordered my second set tonight, I am in love. Have you tried them?

I can't quite hear what you say about allergy, did you say 'clove'? If so, do you have any idea why clove is used in paint making? Just wondering.
@hannahlaclair180

Hi Elizabeth! I run Lighthouse Cove 😊 The reason why makers use clove is because it acts as a preservative. However, there are many different natural preservatives that can be used in watercolors. I personally use Chamomille!

Ohhh the colours that are from Eventually Everything Mixes are so different but in a good way. I can't believe you kept most of the unboxing footage, I never remember to do that but watching you open them all before painting is like xmas coming early especially since the packaging of these handmade products are always on point and seeing the creators personalities in them too, hahahahaaa 😂😂😂 That granulation on the Limn watercolour brown..... WOW.... Ohhh the stoneworks mills watercolours are even more granulating!! Ahhh I am fangirling over these a little too much now, lol!

🤣 🤣 🤣 that’s exactly the reaction I was hoping for, so I’m so happy! OMG do you know how hard it was for me to wait until I was able to film them in order to open them? But I really do feel like such a big part of the experience is the unboxing, so I wanted to be able to show that as well.

Sadly Limn Colors has closed down operation so I can't see the innovative pans you talk about. It looks to me that from an overall versatility and useability perspctive that the Matteo Grill and Rivervale Watercolors are the winners, although the Stone Mill look really interesting.
