We tried growing ginger in raised beds this year in our mild Mediterranean climate and weren't sure whether we would have a successful harvest. We heard that ginger can take almost a year to grow, yet we have a little more than half a year of warm enough weather to grow ginger in our climate. However, to our surprise, the few pieces of ginger that Gordon buried into the soil yielded a bountiful harvest!
Once the ginger has finished pickling, we can't wait to enjoy it with some sushi or even in a couple of stir-fried dishes!
