Great video, love your style of presenting. You chat to us as if we were old friends, such a great way of presenting. You have both been very busy with your deep clean and mini make overs. The guest room looks great. You’re so right when you say adding personal touch make a house feel like a home. It’s like putting your own stamp of approval on it. Hope you’re weathers not too bad so you are able to get outside and show your visitors your part of the country.❤

Thank you! And sorry to hear that you also suffer with the fires. In Greece it must be quite scary because of how dry it is right? Sending you love

love the décor you present, loving the beautiful fixtures , especially the old doors & floor boards, & then putting your own signature over the top with the little things as someone else has mentioned love the way you talk to us through your videos, like we are there with you :)) it's lovely sad about the fires, burning for no reason is awful, we burn off in Australia so we don't get fire storms like some years ago & the ones before CoViD with everyone letting the 'bush go back naturally' well we paid for that mistake, hopefully it won't happen again can't wait for more, thanx for sharing

Our windy season is April, but we had some very windy weather earlier on too this year. Every year I worry that bird’s eggs and babies will get blown out of their nest 😢. It has happened….. That’s so frustrating that people living in gorgeous places like that are so ignorant about taking care of it. Yes, Warner is a hero!!! Honestly, we need to speak up to people like that. Can you, and the others who know how bad and unsafe those illegal fires are, go talk to that farmer who starts those fires? It may not help, but it’s worth giving it a try? My father in law was using a product(weed killer) that was horrible for the environment, and as it turns out, also has been causing cancer in humans, and I’m sure in other creatures too. We kept telling him not to use it, and he’s one of those people who likes to instigate, so then he kinda rubbed our faces in it, and kept telling us how great it is that he can just kill all those “weeds” with that product. I finally sent him a scientific article, and I think, we hope, he finally has topped using it. Your home looks so inviting and cozy! Well done 🧡

Speaking up to kindly increase awareness is so important, yes! We know from local associations that have been working on the topic for years that it is VERY challenging here. But we’re not giving up and will continue trying to figure out a way ☺️ As for the being worried about the nests and the wind, I’m the same! When we were living in the Netherlands we saw a couple of distressed bird parents trying to save their home during a harsh storm and I was so heartbroken. Now all I can think about is the little critters affected outside 😢 ♥️

The fires are so distressing, we had one started behind our property with our neighbour trying to burn rubbish and it jumped over us trying to stop it, which was one of the scariest moments in my life. It destroyed half of our place and I had a close call saving my dogs and my years of gardening. Luckily the house and buildings were saved. Not sure how you convince people who obviously don't care.😕

In South Africa they investigate and you can be heavily fined, even jailed if you are found out. You are also charged for the use of the fire department and it's really effective.

No you plant trees in November when the soil is still warm and they benefit from the Winters rain to get them established. The soil is too cold in February or early Spring.
@WaleandMe
4 ай бұрын
You’re right, the usual planting season is normally in autumn. Here however we have the issue of the really strong wind storms in those months, so we’ve been advised by local experts to plant in early spring. Hopefully the plant babies we’ve gotten survive the cold soil 🤞
