Great commentary. Milling is great fun, for sure. Very efficient re-saw process on your flitches.

That black Walnut is wild eh, would that have been planted there years ago? It’s sort of like tamarack it’s yellow green when you saw it then next day turn colour. I’m so impressed with my double hard Woodmizer blades, they are the cheapest blades I ever bought and I think the best cutting so far, I get very little wavy lumber with them. Take care Jeff great video.

I’ve got lots more to open up and see what it looks like. The fellow who owned the tree said he remembers his dad planting it- I’m doubtful- he’s only a few years older than I am. :)

Take the belt out of the pulley and mount it to your curved arm. When it goes into the pulley it will hold and you can eliminate the friction tape

How would one fasten a piece of belt to the brake band?

Do you have any way of keeping track of how many steps you take? My watch records my steps. My goal is 6,000 steps each day. I bet you get far more steps than that each day when you run the sawmill. Of course your steps would be metric steps.

Have looked at "Hobby hardwood" from Alabama, he has a philosophy that "no step is a good step". But he has remote console on his Woodmizer.

Just on my phone- I usually rack up 15000 or more a day. Some days more than 20000!

@@thelogfather5002Understandable as you walk along every board and take a hike around the mill when you turn a log. I havd a sneaky suspicion that the step-count would fall drastically if you had a fully hydraulic automated mill like the LT70, the LX450 or a TimberKing/Baker/Cooks. This is just a thought, nothing else. Hope that no-one takes it the wrong way 🫣🙄😶🌫️...

Saturday blower issues?
@thelogfather5002

Not really- it’s a bit overwhelmed by the wide boards… it’s good to a board about 12” wide. I was milling 16” and the blower is too small to take all the sawdust. A 2hp one would be better.
