The Ineos Granadier is a bit short on luxury touches. No Power seats, which in an 80-90k vehicle is quite perplexing, given that every other off-road vehicle offers power seats, no on-board Navigation, on-board cellular phone integration capabilities, no pedestrian cross-traffic avoidance capabilities, no heated or ventilated seats, a turning radius approximating that of the Battleship, quirking steering that does not re-center, and no premium stereo system. There is much to like and appreciate about the Granadier, but for most consumers, this would be a vehicle ill suited to be a daily commuter vehicle. I test drove the Granadier. It is built like a tractor, very hefty, weighing over 7500 lbs, which allows a 100% tax write-off. But it is built to be a minimalist plus a few amenities vehicle, has minimal sound deadening glass, spray, carpeting, insulation, and as such it does not provide the quite ride on road as the Lexus GX and LX vehicles do, which are also body on frame vehicles. I can not with certainly qualify the decibel level within the cabin of the Granadier while traveling at 55 mph, but I would say it was rather noisy within the cabin, with the noise reaching somewhat intrusive levels as speeds approached 60-65 mph. Cabin noise below 40 mph was very acceptable. The crazy turning radius would take many by surprise and make traveling with this vehicle in tight spaces and on tight winding roads, a significant challenge. A tight space requiring a 3 point turn with most vehicles will take 5-6 or more turns with the Granadier. That turning radius is in part the result of the solid front and rear axles, which makes this a very capable off-load vehicle, but one less suited for highway travel. The engine is a BMW 6 cylinder, which has proven dependable and reliable, and Ineos has tuned it to produce lower hp and greater low-end torque to improve long-term reliability. Producing the vehicle in the USA would permit Ineos to bring the vehicle to the USA market at a price more commiserate with its place within the market and amenities offered, but also risk seeing quality of construction drop significantly. I anticipate many aftermarket accessories to be produced to dress-up this vehicle.

the defender is a lemon! suzuki or subaru are much better!
