Many people are missing the point that X wasn't actually married. Adept literally served him divorce papers in court and then argued they were common law married because they had been dating for 4 years and living together. Even if you don't like xQc this is terrifying as it means any gf you date for more than a year can try to take half your money and request alimony payments even though you weren't married. This shouldn't even be legal. The whole point of marriage is you make a choice to combine assets with another person and have the government recognize you and your spouse as a single unit. If Adept wins, this sets a major precedent due to his fame. What she's doing is despicable and this legal loophole deprives people the choice of getting married or not. Basically, dating someone would now carry the same massive risks that marriage brings - by default. Adept doesn't deserve a cent as she did nothing to help his career. His job didn't impact her ability to work. In fact she worked full time. They used a cleaning service to clean the house, and she didn't cook. So nothing she did was pivotal in his ability to become successful. In fact she benefited from dating him as she got more viewers and landed sponsorship deals. This isn't what alimony is for. And since she contributed nothing to his career success she literally doesn't deserve a single cent. They were bf and gf and the relationship ended.

I felt bad for xQc through this video until the ‘common law marriage’ thing came up. Then I just felt utter rage at her. The entire point of a marriage is a binding ceremony where 2 people become, officially, a thing in the eyes of the government. Common law marriage laws usually only comes into play after a person dies or is majorly hospitalized. And they'd have to be living together for 10, 20, even 30+ years together depending on the laws. It helps those who are too poor to marry, who are saving up, or who just dont want to have to deal with divorce proceedings if they do split. Common law marriage also helped a lot of secretly queer couples before same sex marriage was legalized. I highly, HIGHLY doubt them being together counted as common law marriage and ive never once seen it be used in a divorce-like court proceeding. Its disgusting she'd use common law marriage like that tbh

hey just letting you all know the court does not care if the petitioner aka (the one who filed the restraining order) to break the restraining order. because the court looks at the person who has been deemed the aggressor or who ever the defendant is aka (xqc) no rights to communicate to this person, a judge will decide that, you will have to legally sign it away. which xqc did in court with a judge and ruling, so basically she reins all rights to harass xqc till the restraining order is over. THIS IS WHY, people abuse this system lots of young millionares and billionares or even people coming out of abusive relationships, marrige, ex marrige, domestic violence, can be hurt the court can side with a agressor because of said evidence or lack there of, so make sure to always document THE US is very corrupt when it comes to fairness and legality. it can be taken advantage of to ruin someones life.

@@ultratronger That doesn't explain why the objective reason he legally can't talk, but I understand what you're saying, I'm not sure why that court order is still active for him after all this information coming out and not only that but these records are public so why would he need to have a nondisclosure agreement is beyond me.

@@Bike_Chain I would imagine she wanted him to not be able to disclose so that she isn't harassed. She would be ruthlessly harassed if XQC was able to freely talk about what a garbage case this is. To some extent she'd deserve it to be honest. Also it's a term that is understandably hard to keep, she likely wants him to break it so that she has more legal ammunition against him. She sounds like an utterly despicable human being, I hope she loses the suit and is wiped off the face of the internet.

No. Just don't get married, and move somewhere with no common law marriage. Prenup isn't risk free. Honestly? Upwards of 60% of all married couples cheat at some point (LA Intelligence Detective Agency). Just don't even bother to begin with. Rack up money and fuck shit up, ignore the delusional people acting like love is the center of everything. I decided that the risk is too statistically unfavorable for me, and honestly? I've enjoyed dedicating my life to my passions - music, philosophy, and physics. Life is grand if you don't waste it
