I am listening to this song in the midst of the COVID19 pandemic and I choose to dedicate this masterpiece to all the healthcare workers who are at the forefront of the battle field fighting this monster. I also condemn governments that do not value the lives and contributions of our healthcare workers. History will judge the leaders of the world harshly. We cannot stand by as South Africans when our brothers and sisters across the race and gender spectrums lose their lives in the fight against this pandemic. We cannot look on when the nation perishes and yet some people see an opportunity to enrich themselves in the midst of these unfortunate circumstances. We were promised a better life for all since democracy dawned on the shores of South Africa in 1994. Will that promise ever materialize? Remains to be seen!
