Hello Everyone,
This video is essentially a progress report showing the status of the project.
I've finally started to make some progress with bad weather and delays behind us, hopefully.
Some full height lateral and longitudinal bulkheads have been cut, glassed and installed. The transom has been cut but still needs to be tidied up and glued into position using a combination of Vinyl Ester resin cabo-sil or also known as fumed silica, this combination is structural and ideal for build up fillers and glue systems or bonding structural elements.
The majority of the laminates I'm using are a combination of CSM - chopped strand matt, woven roving, bi-axial, double bias and quad-axial cloths all making up a very strong structural system.
What I'm not looking for is a light boat, that's not why I've used Thermo-lite. I want a boat that will handle the roughest conditions with ease and push through anything mother nature can throw at it.
There is still hundreds of hours of work required before this boat is even close to going back in the water but it will be worth the time and effort put in.
Once this has been completed it will be time to start the electrical systems and the paint work. My ideas are to transfer my knowledge of commercial building electronics and digital systems to the boat electrical and electronic systems. I'll describe the different wire and cable types and the importance of wire size. My system will be a combination of LiFePo4 lithium ion phosphate and lead acid batteries and solar charge systems
I'm hoping the boat will be back in the water in about 3 months so I can finally go fishing and enjoy the work I've done!
