I miss you, Siila. umph. Your mother must be so proud. It is so good to hear you advocate for the Inuit.

It's the lack of compassion for all our neighbours that is killing us all.

I myself as an Inuk can relate to what she is saying but as an individual who was born almost totally disconnected to the knowledge of our old ways I have always thought that how humans as of this planet have changed and how I see that in the animal kingdom there is no such thing as compassion for example in the hunter gatherer world natural selection plays a huge role in our life in order for a for a huge Industrial society to survive and function we must comprise the things in life that does not adhere to our system of order to survive before the agricultural revolution took place all humans were foragers like my ancestors were sure the foragers had a much better life but as agriculture was becoming more and more evident and time went on it was a tough and less sustainable there was no going back humans are ever so changing faster than our biological capabilities in terms of technology put in the case of Inuit we have no other alternative to other means of foraging given our harsh cold climate it is more important to admit this is a complex issue even if we tried to go back to our old societal standards of ancient Inuit there’s no turning back it is out natural instinct as humans to stick with what we know for instinct if people in the days of snail mail era was exposed to how we use email today I bet you 10 time out of 10 they would choose the email over the old one so an inuk today is impossible to just drop the luxuries of today like computers and houses snowmobiles and rifles over years and years worth of knowledge living in snow houses and using bow and arrows we need to find a societal system in order to solve our issues in a climate unsuited for a agriculture society I alone cannot come to a conclusion on the topic alone if we work with our Inuit governing systems and our counter parts we can start getting the ball rolling thank you Sheila for your work on this subject matter nakuqmiimarialu siilangai
