I've had this model for 10 years now. Ultra comfortable, ultra reliable. After 10 years the left arm support gave up / cracked but it's still fully working and functional.

Can I ask a question! It's so difficult during lockdown to figure out if a chair is good for you 😩 so my one concern is it looks like you can't sit upright and be supported, like the back of the chair tilts back quite easily - does that make sense? So if I wanted to sit upright would my back / shoulders feel supported? And when you do recline does your neck feel squashed / does your spine feel aligned (would really help if you could answer me 🙏🏽✨)

@@pomegranateemporium Hiya. When sitting upright you are still supported due to shape of the back part of the seat and the headrest. The seat won't tilt unless you push it with your back, you kind of must push sharply if you know what I mean. When you place your feet flat on the floor, adjust the seat to your likes, the support is pretty good then. You can set the back support of the seat into 9 or 10 different heights as well - it helps to accommodate to your body type. The part of the seat you sit on moves back and forward as well (I've only discovered it recently :) ) I know there were a few versions of this chair, the first one is the most robust and very well made, next versions had some little issues - for instance with the caster wheels being broken a few months after the chair was bought new. Hopefully it helps to make your mind up. When I bought my chair I did not try it first, just bought it and then my mind was blown away by the comfort and support it gives. I've tried Steelcase high model chair and it was not as good and robust as Humanscale.

@@chemikaze amaziiiiing thank you so much for that great feedback ✨ so basically if I want to sit up straight it's still really supportive? Do you reckon I need to get a gel seat?
@chemikaze

@@pomegranateemporium You're very welcome. Yes, it's still pretty supportive. I'm not sure about gel seats, I would not like one for myself. It all depends on your preferences. The good thing about this specific Humanscale seat is, it's been on the market for over 20 years - it suggests it must be a good chair :)

Everyone's different. I've got this chair and I have scoliosis and spondylotheis in my lower back and for the first time, I've sat in an office chair for nearly an entire day and not one minute of lower back pain, no shuffling around or repositioning or anything. It was bizarre looking back that I just never had to think about it. The chair wasn't cheap but being able to sit without pain and recline without any pain also made it worth it.

@@FastRedPonyCar yea there are a few limitations on the chair. Like the back rest doesn't tilt back far enough and the head rest is a bit too far forward but I love the gel seat

My leather Humanscale started giving up after 10 years but the leather never cracked on the back part and the part you sit on. Pretty good chair.

The reason this material tends to crack or peel is that most people don’t apply leather conditioner to their chairs. It’s absolutely essential to do so if one wants the chair to last.

It's one of the top of the line leathers. With that saddle color leather, you're looking at a $3000 chair. With just a normal fabric, they can be bought new for under a grand.

My Freedom chair squeaks/creaks loads when I recline. Is there a fix?
@willsander6178

White lithium grease on some parts of the chair is what is recommended. Worked for me. I think it's best to use a small amount where you think the creaks come from (for example the arc the headrest glides on), wait a few minutes atleast, test the chair, and repeat as needed. Too much grease might cause issues I figure, as well as be messy.
