I got to say that's not only humanure for me Since I started doing it, my physical, mental and spiritual health inproved a lot. I recovered from a very hard and difficult to cure disease. Because of this, I could start doing in my life and invent many new things that I could not before due to poor health and poor general condition. Beacause of this, I was able to start working a lot physically and intellectually. I also feel better spritually- happier and freer to do good things and generally as me and I can also give this happiness to others. The very sad thing is that people do not want to see that the changes that have taken place are the results of working towards humanure.

When I say that God with His grace can heal through nature and act through infinite number of things, even believers in God often knock on the head and tell me that I am mentally ill or something. And I've just been in bad condition but it keeps getting all the way better. Certainly there are many graces of God in action for matters which are missing in the world and about which people think that they are not working but work wonderfully. I hope that it will gradually change and people will be able to take advantage of the good that is contained in this matter and also be able to discover many other wonders so far hidden for humanity or old and forgotten or considered not working but works great. Cordial greetings and blessing for You everyone ❤

Hey. Thank you for yet another great video. Your knowledge, experience and verve-to-share is so valued! I'm in the latter development stage of designing a small home in Tasmania. Per 'The Book', this process necessarily describes dealing with (and paying for) engineers, quantity surveyors, soil scientists, geologists, a myriad of other specialised professionals and of course, my local Council. This crew (insert collective noun for all the above) are great... they know their stuff and are deeply engaged in the project - at a hefty price. The collective noun sing from the same book and that book is called Code. So my question is, 'how have you legally-or-otherwised negotiated the collective noun and its Code, in order to physically and biologically do what you do and lovingly share? I know... it's great question! Love. x

Yes, a bloody good question Glen! The simple answer is to decode. There are so many laws to break in order to live ecologically and decouple from industrial wages, pollution, economy and ideology. The slightly longer answer is we started by getting all the codes ticked off by the relevant authorities (we didn't know where we were heading 14 years ago so we just got the cheapest hook ups to all the services that we thought we needed back then). Then began the slow 10-year process of decoding from hypertechnocivility. Even though we don't send our shit off to some far-away industrial processing plant, and we haven't for several years, we still have to pay the sewerage rates - no escaping that in the burbs. But the gas is long decommissioned, and maybe it will be for all Victorians soon in a brave move from The Andrews government. Hope this helps.

And once its been going for a while , I should just be sure to leave plenty at the bottom of the bay visible or do you add more occasionally? Thank you xxoo

I've used a composting toilet for several years. I line my bucket with tall, draw-string plastic kitchen bags, alleviating the need for many buckets. I have only two. One is in use while the other airs out in direct sunlight. Never a foul smell or any insects. I recycle the plastic using a tracking concentrating solar retort, which turns waste plastic into fuel for my steam boiler.

For everyone interested in Humanure, I highly recommend that you first read the book The Humanure Handbook by Joseph Jenkins and follow it to the letter. He wrote the "Bible" of Humanure.
@artistasfamily

We disagree. Jenkins book is excellent, but it is far better to separate urine (as much as possible) from your humanure system. Therefore, it is not advised to follow Jenkins's work to the letter if you want the best results. This is what our video shows, if you watch it in full.

Yes you could, or at least we would be happy to with our dog bc we feed Zero a non-industrial diet - roadkill, goat and rabbit bones, scraps from the kitchen table, etc. However, Zero is a very private poo-er and he discretely deposits his waste so we don't bc of the time it would take to hunt them down... hope this helps!

Hi Patrick, great video thank you! I was just wondering, can I use eucalyptus leaves & chips & saw dust? Currently only using straw, but like you said, I’m needing to buy that in & would prefer to rent a chipper & use the fallen eucalyptus around the property. Thanks
@artistasfamily
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kate, thanks for your comment. Yes, if you are going to break down the eucalyptus biomass on the land you caretake, hire a shredder rather than a chipper. Wood chips take a long time to break down, they can also cake together and reduce moisture and air flows, thus slowing the process even more. Shredded material will break down faster and add better texture for habitat in your compost. If you are growing, or can grow, comfrey in the garden in a big volume this will aid with the nutrient transformation process in your system and potentially 'cool' down the acidity of the eucalyptus matter. Other plant fibres layered in the compost will help too. Oak leaves have great alkalising properties so being able to forage for these leaves will serve your compost well too. Hope this helps.
@klfirestone

Ok, great! Thanks for the clarity Patrick, really appreciate it. So much eucalyptus around, wonderful to know how to use it wisely. We have a couple of large oak trees here too & we usually put them on our large general open compost but will be sure to save some for the humanure composting now. Hoping you, Meg and Woody are really well. Forever inspired by you all.

Is there any smell? and why do you put the urine in a different place? does that get composted? also hay might be hard to get and sawdust too, what could we use in a place like Bangladesh a forth world country. ? Thank you. Mama T
@artistasfamily
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Mama T, thanks for your questions. No there's no smell in our system, the carbon materials absorb the smell. You can use urine in the same humanure system, we don't but you can. Instead we collect ours in buckets, water it down (50/50) and walk this free liquid nitrogen to specific fruit trees in the garden to direct feed them. Citrus love loads of urine. You can, however, overfeed trees with nitrogen, so if you have a number of trees to distribute it to that's best, otherwise just let it all go into the one humanure compost system, though you'll need to add more carbon (to reduce smell and absorb the urine). Any carbon material will do - torn up newspaper and cardboard, collected dry fallen leaves (we bike around the neighbourhood collecting them), chopped up tree branches, etc. Hope this is helpful.

@gregbell2117

The amount of urine in the "input" bucket was very small - maybe 20% of the volume? Then about 5 buckets of dry material? That's quite a large ratio of C inputs to urine (25:1). Do I have that right? If so, the "gold" at the end is mostly just composted straw. comfrey, and sawdust.
@artistasfamily
2 жыл бұрын
Hello Greg, thanks for your question. Yes, the carbon to nitrogen ratio is about 25:1 (which is a typical compost ratio). Our composts have little urine inputs. The nitrogen speeds the conversion of the carbon material into humus. 20:1 is fine too. Hope this helps clarify.
@gregbell2117
2 жыл бұрын
@@artistasfamily 25:1 is the ratio of C inputs to urine that I think I see in the video. Since urine is something like 95% water, 2.5% salt, and 2.5% N, your ratio of C:N is really much much greater than that. My point is that you could probably get by with a lot fewer off-farm inputs.

Sorry to give you a thumbs down, but there are too many inaccuracies in this vid - especially stating that it's "perfectly safe" after six months (using the method described). That many be true in many cases, but certainly not 100% of the time.
