It's great to see nature in action and I 'liked' the video. But, the rate of success for crossing over this small barrier isn't good. There were approx 80 attempts and about 5 made it over. Maybe this is a normal rate for salmon making it over a barrier? I don't know. Given the current situation of our fisheries populations seems like we need improved (man made) barriers or removal of barriers all-together to allow increased passage to allow for increased spawning. Only one single fish made it over the center of the pour-over at 25 sec. One fish actually got dragged backwards at 45 sec. Not even the big guys could make it over the center. It looks as though the water accelerates as it rolls over, which seems like one of the problems. It's a good reminder of the challenges that humans have made for fish survival. The best strategy for crossing seemed based more on luck, when a fish would land at the edge of the pour-over and sneak through. Thank you for posting!

As I read in the beginning it seems that this "salmon obstacle" is located in Toronto, Ontario in Canada 🇨🇦.
