The Hunt wheels look good 👍 i learned quick that weight does not matter on a ebike and it's all about durability, getting good tires and keeping your chain and sprockets lubed and in good condition really are a must on my e bikes 😊

I just got these same wheels in mullet for my freeride e bike and I have Cush core front and rear too. $460 delivered in two days. I have been beating these up at Northstar bike park. These are robust and bullet proof. This is my first time using alloy wheels in years and these are my fav wheels.

This video has everything - from organized tool drawers to jumps on the trail - mind blowing wheel set config at a seriously considerable price point! I love the way the Ramblas rides too

@@RunBikeMike Question - I have the Ramblas for 5 months now. It's a great bike, and I've been hitting it hard on the blue trails. My dilemma is this - at what point do the upgrades start hitting dimishing returns? If I got a new wheelset, tubeless tires, a new fork, new dropper etc - is it still not just a heavy ass eMTB? I love the Ramblas, but I'm starting to come to grips with the fact that it's a commuter bike with a bit of MTB prowess, that giant ass battery is what's holding me back. Why throw all this money at the Ramblas when the money could be thrown at a very capable full suspension eMTB? I'm genuinely asking, as I'm wrestling with this lately.

@sd5458 there's a walk function to assist upstairs, but I agree it's heavy. I live in a three story apartment and lug it up to the third floor. With a added like 10 or 15lbs with a back rack and bag.

@@alvink566 I know thee's a walk function it's designed for the trails and I use it frequently when I'm hike a biking difficult parts of the trail. My original comment it to point out that you can put thousands of dollars into this bike but it will only ever be a mediocre hard tail. And that's hard for me to saay because I love the bike. If it had a slightly smaller battery and was 10lbs lighter I would not have any dilemma.

What was the weight difference on the new wheel setup?

Thanks for the video. I have the Aventon Ramblas and my only complaint is the wheels. I live in cactus and goathead country where flat tires are a almost weekly fact of life and I have learned the hard way, that tubeless wheel are the best way to go. So I have begun my search to convert my wheels to tubeless. Preferably 29X 2.6 if possible

Loving this. Will be fun to watch you continue to upgrade the Ramblas. I eventually want to try tubeless and it was great to see a good roadmap into how to do that. Did you ever try taping the stock rims and seeing if it was possible to convert those? Just curious. Future upgrade video’s down the road for the fork and something like the GX Transmission would be cool too!

Did you read my map already 😆 fork and transmission is definitely on the map I have 😜. I thought about making a video on converting them to tubeless just to show if it can be done.

@@RunBikeMike I see a lot of people on the boards asking about tubless conversion so I think there’d be some interest. Plus just generally from anyone who has a non tubless ready rim may find the process interesting. I know I’d check it out! Especially after your point that maybe having the lightest rims possible may not be AS necessary with such a torquey motor.

What tire did you choose to put on the back wheel of the ebike to make it engage faster? I am looking to buy my first ebike and by far i think your video was the most helpful and encompassing about this ebike. Some of us dont know all the brands and price points. It is the old adage question of first step done, i got the ebike, what can or do i do now or in the future. Definitely interested in future changes of this ebike. Would love for you to come down and review Tahlequah trails. It is a fairly new course here in Oklahoma but seeing your rides in Arkansas, and Missouri, and showing their courses, it would help us newbies, know where and what are some of the best places to ride.

I haven’t changed the rear out from the Wicked Will yet. I will go with something a little more aggressive but the Wick Will, will do for a while. I will definitely look up that trail.

How was the Ramblas on small jumps? Did it feel its weight or just like a hard tail? I’m considering one but afraid of what it will do on jumps about the size you had in your video. I can ride black trails but don’t sent it on all of the big jumps. Would this bike work for that in your opinion?

It feels so nimble. My friend who was with me on my ride at two rivers rode it and had never been on an ebike before. One of the 1st comments he had was it is so nimble. It feels amazing.

What is the difference in weight from the stock? They will install the torque caps? I was gonna put in Tannus that I have, and run them with stock rims and tubes and see how it rides.

I need to strip the tires and tubes off the stock wheels and weight them. I will let you know as soon as I can. Yeah they installed the torque caps for me.

So at check out you chose torque caps and not 15x110? They also have a coupon for another 10%. And what psi did you use with the cushcore?

Are the rock shox torque caps is what you need to use with the stock fork and then any rock shox forks if I upgrade in the future? I’m wanting to do the tires first but figured I’d get rims so I had two sets. I just want to make sure I order the right wheels with the correct adapters. Thanks
@RunBikeMike

Yeah if you have a rock shox fork you want the caps. You don’t have to have them but since they offer them it is a good idea.

I got my wheels in and mounted. I’m glad I got the rock shox torque caps. Thanks for that! Question for you, I cannot get the valve stems to seal. They leak so bad that they to flat literally in about 20 seconds if you fill them up. I haven’t put sealer in them yet but is it really required to have sealer in them for the valve stems to not leak?
@RunBikeMike

@shtf45acp valve are a pain. Sealant will need to be added for sure to seal up any micro holes. But make sure the valves are really tight as this is the biggest area for air to leak out.
