Very well put together with lots of good information. Very good shooting and fantastic PH work. More information like this is essential, as so many people unfortunately do not understand that without a system of placing value on the wildlife, there will be none. Thank you for sharing this and again, very good work 👍🏻

Martin, another superb video! As I've said to you many times in the past, of all the safari videos you can find on KZitem, yours always stand out because you always manage to add the humanity that happens (not to forget the awesome videography and production work). The scenes at the lodges and around the campfire and the dinner table, really let people know what these hunts are like. As always, my compliments to you and your staff. Christmas and the Holidays will be here soon, so I think a nice present would be the next part of this wonderful hunt! Cheers and Happy Christmas and Holidays Rich

Karreekloof is an amazing place. It has a long history of being a trading outpost for Boer settlers and cattle ranchers in the 1880s, and abounded with game at that time, which included buffalo, lion, roan, springbok, rhino, and many others. Unfortunately, most of the natural inhabitants were exterminated shortly after to make way for cattle. It was only until very recently that this old outpost would become a wildlife haven again. All the game reintroductions came from hunting outfitters who wanted to revitalize the area, and Karreekloof now has the largest free-roaming herds of sable and roan in Africa. A completely self-sustaining ecosystem spanning over 112k continuous acres and being strictly managed and propped-up by hunting.The hunting operators in question plan to reintroduce all of the species that existed prior.

@@AfricanSunProductions cheetah is a magnificent animal, in Brazil we have the jaguar, jaguar hunting is not allowed in Brazil, it could only hunt European wild boar, an invasive species, but even so, jaguars do not stop getting into conflicts with farmers in the Pantanal and in the Amazon, in Brazil they do not there are no hunting reserves they should have more so far no one has taken the initiative to buy land in the swamp and turn it into a hunting reserve to stop agricultural expansion, and so on preserving the fauna as in Africa, I believe that hunting is the best way to environmental preservation, the pantanal is not limited to jaguars, we have the pantanal deer, for those who like fishing, the best place is the pantanal and the largest floodplain in the world and therefore we have several species of fish, piranhas, goldfish, pacu, and other species of catfish that can reach 1.50 meters, I think that a game reserve in the Pantanal or in the Amazon would work, as well as in Africa.

friends, you only hunt with a sniper rifle or you can hunt with bows or spears
@AfricanSunProductions
Жыл бұрын
Morning friend. There are many reason to use a rifle instead of bow or spear. Chances of wounding an animal with a spear is very big, meaning the animal will probably suffer much more and for much longer. Using the best weapon to your disposal is always preferred to ensure a quick and ethical kill. I don't recommend sniper rifles. People think sniper rifles are the best weapon but they are actually very small calibers, too small for something like a buffalo. A bigger caliber is best. Thank you for watching and for your comment.

All hunters in south Africa don't walk miles for the hunt not far from the vehicle not the same as Zimbabwe and Zambian hunting videos
@AfricanSunProductions
2 ай бұрын
Wrong. Just because the hunt is in SA doesn't mean it's easy, and a hunt in Zim doesn't mean it's tough. Every hunt in any country, there are shots taken from right next to the vehicle. Some of the toughest buffalo hunts I filmed was in SA.

I am too dumb to understand how killing more animals prevents poaching. I mean if they go extinct they cannot be poached. Is that the reasoning here? I can see that.
@AfricanSunProductions
Жыл бұрын
Hi Doug. In part 2 we'll explain it in even more detail, but pretty much what it comes down to is that poaching in uncontrolled, they kill anything and everything for meat, money or protection and this leads to a sharp decline in wildlife numbers. Legal hunting on the other hand is highly controlled, meaning that animals are taken out selectively and the rest of the animals are highly protected, meaning they can increase in numbers and at the end of the year there are more than in the beginning of the year. Hunting not only brings in the needed funds for protection of wildlife (pay anti-poaching units, pay do dig new waterholes during droughts, pay to buy more land to keep villagers away, pay to raise orphaned young, pay the vets during disease outbreaks) it also feed the locals to make sure they don't poach, it builds schools and educate about the importance of wildlife. It's all very successful and the biggest conservation tool we have here in Africa.
@marcmoore4115
Жыл бұрын
In short, Hunting brings in money, money protects the rest of the animals and improves their living conditions. Poachers generally also kill whatever they can find, which means that young bulls and cows, even babies are often killed. That really hurts the herds chances to grow. In contrast, the PH will pick out specific old bulls and sometimes cows, that have already repopulated their herds and often can no longer breed. That means that that animal has had many years to breed and increase the population of the herds, before it is hunted.
@Dougmiller775

@@AfricanSunProductions Thank you for your answer! I am a bit skeptical about this since most countries in Africa are...corrupt, I would not be suprised if money from legal hunting would go straight into the pockets of the people behind the illegal animal trafficking/hunting. But if you already had some success then at least some of the money goes to the right place! Thank you for trying to help.
