Yeah, it can be a bit difficult to find a solid deal at times. Especially for an avid Phil Plantier fan like myself.

That was cool to see you venturing in my neck of woods. The antique stores in western NC are pretty pricy. The flea markets tend to be better for cards.

Antique Malls usually charge a high percentage of EVERY item that is sold. EVERY item has to be priced and cataloged. Thats why the owners aren't even manning their booths or displays. They cant really give deals. I have heard some antique malls dont itemize every item but I have never been to one that doesn't itemize all the items.

Those places are waaaaay better than the antique malls here in the Dallas Texas area. Nothing but overpriced junk and furniture in our stores. I did run across a nickle box full of junk wax cards today and bought a bunch of those to complete some sets I was working on so my day wasnt a complete strike out.

These places were just on the way to my main destination in SC. I couldn’t find anything that was priced reasonably or that I needed for my collection. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be the first to drop large sums of money on old action figures that I need but I don’t come across things like that too often. For me it’s about the overall experience. I love going to places like this regardless if I find anything or not.
