You should feel lucky catching an eel. Freshwater eels are fantastic to eat and they're a good sign that the water where you're fishing is clean and healthy, because eels are very sensitive to pollution and die off quickly when the water gets bad.

@@shmokeyrl3195 Yes it is, Eel mostly eat crayfish and crayfish are very sensitive about water qulity too. Catching Eel during the day is another rare sight, since they are mostly active during night time. Eel is very delicious, specially smoked. Sadly that young fellow doesn't have alot of respect for the fish he is catching. The requirements to obtain a fishing licence seem to be rather lacking in Washington.

@The Swedish American Wow, okay! I didn't realise that! My apologies, I live in the Netherlands, and due to our overall pristine water conditions here I didn't realise that some waters elsewhere might be too polluted to consume the fish caught from them. Just a case of taking good water conditions for granted. Now it all makes sense. Thanks for enlightening me!

Hey man instead of loosening your drag every time you set the rod down, try keeping the bail open and putting a glass bottle between the reel and the first guide. If a fish bites it, it knocks the bottle over and you run up, close the bail, and set the hook. It's what I do for salmon and trout on Lake Michigan and it works cuz you can instantly set the hook with good drag and the fish can take line preventing it from spitting the hook when it feels tension

Here in Australia I use a galvanised metal rod about 3 feet long and half inch diameter. It has 2 rings welded to the top. Simply spike it into the ground and stand your rod in it. They are sold in just about every tackle store. Even Kmart has them. No need to lay your rod on the path and risk damaging or losing it. www.kmart.com.au/product/jarvis-walker-galvanised-rod-spike/1321820

Dude, I love the passion you have for fishing. Even when your catching fresh water fish that are relatively small compared to what I fish for and you even fish for you truly get excited and it gets me even more excited watching. Keep it up dude... hopefully you get to make a living by fishing every day or fishing and making videos every day. Keep up the good work man. Come up to Jersey for bluefish bud. They spawn in late July early August so you can catch the babies that we call "Snappers" with a basic snapper popper. U can also use live or dead snappers to bottom fish from the beach, docks, marinas and jetties and catch good sized fluke, sea robins(dogfish we call them. Kind of trash fish. Some people eat them but their bellies are great bait) puffer fish, monk fish, sea bass, etc. You can also catch some nice stripers or sharks. But the most fun fishing u can have for cheap is bluefish. Snappers are strong for their size but when they are adults, they are super fun to catch and they range in size from 4-12 pounds. That's the best weight to catch em consistently. Sorry for rambling but I love fishing lol

1ROD! I was fishing at the tidal basin last night same exact spot! I live in the area your better off going across the bridge to 4 mile run there are tons of Snakehead there about the same size as the one you saw surface. Best way to catch them is throwing a frog parallel to the bank along the weed line. Other then that I would suggest just throwing curly tail worms or small swim baits as the snakehead mostly feed on small minnows. They are pretty elusive fish good luck to you and I hope I run into you fishing down there one of these days!

The Bass Guy snake heads are very good. probavly most common fish in southeast Asia. way better than your sport bass here and maybe even better than catfish.
