This week on The Huntsman, Team Wild TV are in the picturesque, and beautiful Cotswolds in southern England. The cotswolds is a stunning, and typical example of the english countryside, known for its gentle hills, sleepy villages and having that very typical english feel.
Team Wild are here with Owen Beardsmore of Cervus UK, and Nolen Sweet of Realtree, as the stalk the english countryside on the hunt for the elusive Roe Buck deer.
Roe deer are the only native species of deer in the UK that have thrived, and boomed in population. There are an estimated 500,000 roe deer in Britain today. Even though beautiful and a staple part of the countryside, when numbers of this creature aren't managed efficiently, Roe deer can be extremely damaging to woodlands and local habitats.
With their increasing population impacting woodland ecosystems here in the cotswolds, Owen and Nolan do their part in hunting this beautiful animal, and also in the hope of getting some tasty meat for the table!
Enjoy!
