Yes, "conservation" means "the wise use of" whatever resource it is. Anti hunters paint us as blood-thirsty, kill-crazy slobs with a beer can in one hand and a shotgun in the other. If they would open their eyes and see the truth, they would see that we are quite the opposite. But then, they would have to admit that they were wrong.

The Snow would have been great sooner but on the last day it was really dumping and by 10 am I was thinking more and more about being able to get out & less and less about finding deer. Do you want to look at the equivalent of responsible and good hunting, then you just have to look at youtube (LunkersTV) to see the disintegration of hunting care in the american way and approach, and especially the one about wild boar hunting from helicopter
@wigon
5 жыл бұрын
Well to be fair, this helicopter hunting is done for the purpose of controlling the population on feral hogs which are NOT the same as European wild boars. Feral hogs in America reproduce much faster and do much more destruction to the natural land and to agricultural land. The bigger problem is that most farmers and ranchers are now charging way too much money for low-income hunters like myself, to come and hunt on their land. I hunt for inexpensive high quality meat and don't want to pay $800 to hunt on someone's land when I don't need to use their facilities. I field dress the game and bring in my own coolers of ice for the meat as well as several gallons of water to clean out the carcass. So I get my meat and go and don't need a "bed and breakfast" experience or campfire stories told by rich White men.
@gurra63able
5 жыл бұрын
@@wigon If the landowner and agricultural industry in USA has such big problems with hogs they should pay you, or at least pay you for ammunition and travel expenses, it's crazy worse if they charge you for it. The hunt from helicopter's is too insecure about the accuracy of the hit when you you should strive for as good killing hit as possible as a responsible hunter and in the video sequence it was very doubtful that most hogs were dead and not just injured when they flew on to other shooting occasions. I know that any injured wild boar or hogs can be very dangerous and it is damn irresponsible of hunters to let innocent people who don't know about them and possibly can be affected by them if the misfortune occurs.
@wigon
5 жыл бұрын
@@gurra63able Hmm.... in general I agree, however, the argument is that what they are doing is intended to be hunting, but rather "pest control" in which whether the animal suffers or not is not their highest priority. As far as wounded animals being dangerous, I haven't heard of anyone being attacked by a wounded hog. Wounded predators are far more dangerous like cougars and bears as they will seek the easiest prey they can get meaning domesticated animals and occasionally people. . But hogs are not predators (aside from killing baby animals of opportunity like a baby deer or baby rabbits) so that's not a major concern.

I hunt wild hogs here in the US, to be honest it’s all we can do just to keep them out of our fields. Over there is their native home but over here they’re invasive and out of control, the only way to control it to some degree it to kill as many as possible, when they line up like they did for you is the perfect shots because you would another or two for them to die later. It’s messed up but we usually only take like one pig and that’s only when we want to eat one. Most of the time we dont

Excellent choice of round for the quick and clean dispatch. Had a friend who hunted pigs in the American Midwest. He used a Holland and Holland .375'' for the purpose. Some people not in the know would laugh at him for the "overkill" until he showed them a special souvenir he kept in the freezer: the "shield" off a male with two .44 magnum and three .223 bullets embedded in it. That poor animal had to suffer being shot multiple times at least twice in its long life thanks to careless people not respecting what they were hunting.

Balázs, what a true connection and understanding of nature you have, in the spirit of the true old hunters. Here in Canada, most game worth hunting is big (White Tail Deer, Moose, Brown, Grizzly and Black Bear), and there is slowly a growing interest again in black powder, traditional hunting. I myself am hoping, next year, to go hunting for deer (sadly, we have no wild boar this far North) with my 1849 Fruwirth Kammerbusche that you helped me identify a while back. I have found a great load that gives me 2 inch accuracy at 100 meters and made proper bullets, with my load of Goex 60g FFG and a greased original .712 inch diameter 1849 pattern compression bullet from a custom mold. Very happy, and since the season opens early here in Canada for "traditional antique" hunting, I hope to get something delicious. All my family enjoys wild meat, and so it will be well enjoyed. Thank you for inspiring me to pursue this and once again, an excellent video!
