Quick story. On Easter when I was 8 my parents got me a rough Ryder b b gun. Well me and all my cousins went walking on our trails with our Papa (RIP) while the women were at the house cooking the Easter dinner. Anyways best believe I had my rough Ryder with me and a cardinal dropped on the ground in front of us, about 40 ft give or take. I lifter my new red Ryder shot that sucker in the head and he flopped around and died pretty quick, I thought my papa would be proud of the shot I was able to make. Instead he grabbed my bb gun walked me to the now dead bird by my ear told me to pick it up. He made me carry it back to the river house with us. He showed me how to pluck, gut and eat that bird. And that was my Easter dinner when I was 8. Boiled up Robin meat plain. Moral of the story my grandpa gave me was. Don’t ever kill anything that ain’t tryna kill you or that you ain’t gonna eat.

These things are fun, but they don't do much damage. I don't like having to do follow up shots to end the things suffering. Fun for cans

I got mine for my 5th bday...and was the bane of many squirrels and chipmunks. Of course i went with my dad and his friends hunting and target shooting before this and learned how to be safe.

Some species of similar looking small birds like certain finches and sparrows are actually invasive

I have this exact same rifle in real life, and it's a smaller version of the "Red Ryder" BB gun. So if you want this gun but bigger, get the Red Ryder.

I have that exact BB gun. Got it when I was like 7 or 8. Now I'm 19 and it's sitting right next to my bed. Good memories 😊

I still have mine on my wall from thirty years ago. I keep it oiled and treated and it still looks good as new. I’ve protected many bird feeders from squirrels with it lol

I bought one of these as a kid and the guy behind the register let me go without showing a id, yet i could see on the screen that it was asking for an id.

When I was about 7 years old I am 65 now I watched a guy burning wasp nest down from the second story of our grade school I ask how you doing that he had the cheap daisy gun and a kitchen match would just fit into the barrel he would sharpen the stem and put it in head first when he shot the gun the bb would hit the match and light it it would fly up and stick into the wasp nest and burn it up really cool.

I remember my uncle getting me one of these on my 7th birthday in 2011. I still have it to this day, spring inside of it broke from being worn.

My and my friend shot birds with BB guns. If you want to eat em I’d go for robins. Start by cutting down the middle of their back with a sharp knife, then break the rib cage. After that you can cut or tear the meat out. The main way I cook it is over the fire. But you can cook it anyway you like. Good seasonings for em’ are, salt, pepper, steak seasoning (optional) and tony ketcher’s/ slap ya’ mama

You Americans are f*cked. I can’t believe I just read a KZitem comment on how first of all shooting small birds within a BB gun and secondly actually eating the meat! You should be ashamed of yourself.
