It's so sad. This is something that cannot be replaced. The artwork and all those old classic buildings, but mainly the hurt to the people - those who are lost or still not found. So sorry this has happened, what a freak storm.

It really is, and I don't feel like there's anywhere near enough coverage about it, or how to help. Thanks for watching and supporting!

The River Arts District was really a special place. I'm an artist from Greensboro and visited there a couple of years ago. I was so inspired and impressed by this place and the artists who shared their work there. My heart is breaking for them and all who have suffered the devastating impact of this event. Much love to everyone there. Trying to figure out the best way to help them recover and move forward.😢❤

Thanks Greg for your recording and also supplying donation sites. I live in Australia and know the calamity of a natural disaster is beyond belief. I encourage people to choose a particular community or even a family that you can support over the long term. The need goes on for years, and following through by making a more personal connection means a lot. Prayerful thoughts to you and your community. Ruth 💕🙏🏾

P.S. as an artist myself, your place looks wonderful and I hope that the creative spirit there will see you through with av vision of optimism in time.

Have hope! Buildings can be replaced. Millions of people want to help. But what really gets me is why isn't the federal government helping? Even after a week most people have no help and more people are dying.

Build by a water course, get taken out by said water course. Its not if its going to flood, but when. And when people learn that, and take steps, like dikes and flood walls. Maybe stuff like this will not happen again.

Or just respect nature and don't build close to the waters. "Arts district"? Sounds like a bunch of wealthy northerners came in and ruined a beautiful southern town.

@@gpwcowboyI’ve visited this area numerous times, I’ve been coming to this area yearly since I was an infant. Most of these people are southern born and raised. Keep your judgements to yourself. If you don’t want to support southern artists just say so.

"Built in the 1900s", yeah time for new shacks. The average price of a home in North Carolina is between $330,820 and $402,870. Those shacks didnt look worth that in the first place.
