I’ll never forget this storm. I was a freshman in high school and remember being out of power for almost 2-3 weeks. Insane experience. Our transformers that help supply power to my neighborhood have never worked the same since. Currently riding through Hurricane Milton and it’s bringing back memories of Wilma

It's hard to believe it's been almost 20 years. I remember a few things from that storm. I stayed with power the first half. The eye went right over us in West Boynton. I went outside and it was calm and sunny. I'll never forget one of the meteorologists Steve Weagle saying the worst part of the storm is over, the back half shouldn't be as bad. Well... it was way worse. We lost power 5 minutes into the back eye wall. Our townhouse was shaking and it sounded like we were in a washing machine. I know people who didn't have power for several weeks after. I do remember the cool front that steered Wilma brought amazing weather when the storm was gone. Here I am going down memory lane waiting on Milton. Thanks for the upload.

The worst part of that hurricane went right over my house in western broward county.. I don't care what they say.. it was a cat 4-5 when it hit us. It destroyed my neighborhood and we didn't have power for 3 weeks after the storm.. it an experience I'll never forget.. and there's no way it was "just" a cat 1-2... there wasn't a wooden fence left within 5 miles of us... if a screen survived it was by a thread... countless windows, cars, trees were just obliterated... in my area it was the strongest storm we ever felt.

Same. We were in western Palm Beach County and got rocked. Didn’t have power for 3-4 weeks. I think it hit the hot swamp waters and intensified and was worse for us on the Atlantic side. Milton is reminding me a lot of Wilma-hope everyone stays safe and takes it seriously.

Seriously I remember alll the light poles were down on 826 in Miami and I saw a tractor AND trailer completely flipped upside down. No way it less than a low cat 3
