I’m 16 right now. Been listening since before I could properly comprehend words. This will forget be my favorite song by Hurt. J is a phenomenal singer and songwriter and my dad even had the pleasure to meet and sit down to talk with him for a few hours way back when.

To each their own, but in my opinion, HURT is one of the greatest bands of all time. They don't have to have a ton of hits on the radio. It's about the lyrics, melodies and soul that goes into their music. I have seen at least a dozen shows, acoustic & plugged in, small bars & large arenas. They put everything they have into every show. If you give them good vibes, they give them right back. J's voice is like no other. He can release so much emotion. Truly talented band.

I will always remember how I discovered Hurt. My mom went to buy some CDs for my birthday. Not knowing what exactly I would like she took the "metal favorite album" of the store. And that's how it began ... Hurt really is a group that must be discovered and I will always be thankful to my mom for that (of course not only that)

Can't tell you when exactly I heard this band. It was headbangers ball on fuse and tool's sober had jus finished up along with lacuna coil heavens a lie. Then I heard rapture. It seized me and I was taken on the sad yet glorious journey rapture created. I got my hs friends into this band. I dont talk to them anymore but this music still speaks volumes to me.

Lot of memories with an awesome person attached to this song. Every time I hear it I think of them, and hope their life has gotten better, and is going well for them. But this version is by far my favorite version of this song, and might just be my favorite Hurt song. The violin sends chills down my spine every time. So serene and beautiful. Hurt speaks to my soul and no other band has ever really done that for me. Each time I hear them, I am glad that this band exists. ❤️❤️❤️

I used to bounce at club that played that dance shit. I would take noise reducing headphones and play songs like this blocking out the background music. It was like I seen people for what the really was...just dancing like clowns. Do it one day, go to a club with headphones and play this song. The little dancing jesters will give this song the edge it needs to make it even more beautiful

Is he mispronouncing russe?x
@AJAshland
8 жыл бұрын
+MendMyWings 7 (Crimson) He is. It's supposed to be pronounced similar to "goose". However, he mentioned, in the footnotes of the Besides & Footnotes album, that the reason he pronounces it this way is because it's written from his perspective as a country boy who doesn't know much about the world.

Omg thanks. Ive been wondering about that for ages. I know it's a silly thing, but it was annoying me lol x
@arthas640

+AJ Ashland (Elitist Cuisine) Gets confusing, because Rus (as in Kieven Rus), the old name of Russia, is pronounced like goose and the old poem Danse Russe means Russian Dance(r) so you'd think Rus + an extra "e" would make it roos-ay. If I remember right, the poem was about a dancer in the Russian Ballet so that may be why it's pronounced Roos like goose.
