You are the go too guy for a good used Husqvarna saw. Nice work Ron. Keeping our fingers crossed for a quick sell

Too bad there isn't some way to bring those old cases back into use. Aluminum means "disposable" when it comes to a crank case, I suppose since they are probably not worth what it would take to make them usable again. Nice that you sold the snowmobile, though. That second keyway is a mystery. You should keep a few matchbook covers in your tool box as they make good feeler gauges also. :-) Good fix!

@@WallysPlace66 Yeah that's how my dad got us going again, years ago. Our car died and won't start again. Dad used a matchbook cover to set the points and get us going again. Course that's when most cars had points.

@@mostlymoparih5682 That reminds me of a time when we were going on vacation and blew a fuse in the car. Dad didn't have anymore so he grabbed a stick of Wrigley's chewing gum and used the wrapper to wrap the fuse. In just a few minutes we were back on the road.

I never heard it called 10-20-30 although those are the correct setting at least on the old points setup.

Two notches on the flywheel. They are number right above the notch. 4 and 5 which the 4 is for a husqavarna 40 and the 5 is husqvarna 50. Done many of these saws.

Hi. I want to install Husqvarna 55 cylinder on Husqvarna 50. Is the 55 cylinder suitable? Should it be converted?
@WallysPlace66
Жыл бұрын
That's hard for me to answer without looking at all the parts. I've never tried it. I don't know if the depth of the cylinder is the same between the two. I wish I could help but without knowing the measurements I can only guess. Let me know what you find out.

You started another saw because you needed something to do while the coffee was perking. Never fooled with a 10/20/30 and have some of those same magneto setters. And as far as loose or marginal bearings and seals you might try Loc-tite Stud & Bearing Mount. They used to use it at the truck shop all the time. You do GOOD work and the glare is nothing. People glare at each other all the time. GBWYall!
