I love this bike! What year is it? Tell me more about the engine. I used race back in the 70s and 80s. I always loved Husqvarna's. I had 74 cr 125, a 79 cr 125, and an 81 cr250. However, my favorite was my 79/81 125 hybrid. I blew the engine on my 250, and I was waiting for the parts, but it was going to take a while because some of the parts for the tranny where coming from Sweden. I wanted to ride, and I decided to see if I could put th 79 cr125 engine into the 81 cr250 chasis. It actually went fairly easy. I had a friend machine new front motor mount brackets, and we had to make some minor tweaks to get the pipe to fit and eventually made a bracket for the pipe. It worked better than I hoped. The engine already had some porting done, and it had a Pro-Curcuit pipe.I also bought new rims and anodized them red. This back in the day before people were anodizing rims. I finished it with white pro-curcuit plastic. I won a lot of races with that bike. This was around the time the Japanese bikes were taking over the sport, and the 125 starting gate was filled with Honda's, Suzuki's, Yamaha's, and Kawasaki's. I was the lone husky on the gate, so when I won, people noticed.

Hi David, that’s an amazing story! The Husqvarna 570 HVM is a 1983 model and the engine is a 570 4-stroke. Your custom 79/81 hybrid sounds like a legendary build-winning races as the only Husky there must have been an incredible feeling!
