A very handy tip. Place a piece of rigid cardboard or an old piece of carpet under the deck before undoing the linkages. This will help you to slide the deck out much easier without scraping it along the rough concrete. You all saw how hard it was to drag it out right ?

Good job on this video. Now have u done one on replacing the blades? I have the exact unit w/ the 3 bin bagger...
@DickButtley
5 жыл бұрын
I just replaced the blades on this model yesterday. Hold the blade with a rag and turn the bolt in the center of the blade counter clockwise with a 5/8 socket. I used the rag for the outter 2 blades and for the center one I held it with a pair of vice grips. I found that it was easier holding it with the vice grips. And when you put the new blade on make sure the "grass side down" is facing down and you'll notice on the center of the blade there's a star pattern.. make sure that star lines up with the star on the rod you're attaching the blade back into. It took about 15 with the deck still attached. It would be much easier if the deck was off.

For longevity, the deck should be removed every time after mowing to clean, coat with oil, add a pump of grease to the spindles and sharpen the blades as needed. Can hit 30 years of life with a stamped deck.

Good afternoon Pitt I'm Brendon when you reinstall your deck face your pins backwards cause most of the time you go forward and your pins are facing forward there's a chance they can pop out and your hangers come down that won't be good but when you face them backwards if they hit something they push in take note of that

What about the adjustment of the front rod to make sure the deck is level in all directions.
@pointnozzleaway
4 жыл бұрын
Charles S. Crawford, there a 3 adjustment points to level the deck. 1 on each side, for side to side level. and the one in front, for front to back level. the manual states that the front on the deck should sit a little lower than the rear of the deck. I usually keep it 1/4 inch lower

Thanks for that. For some reason I ended up with 7 clips. An extra small one. I could not figure out where it went. From your video it seems I have an extra clip. Thanks for the video. Just FYI to anyone driving the tractor after taking it off. I managed to break the galvanized rod that gets disconnected and dangles from the front driving in reverse. It's probably best to remove it too if you plan to drive it around without the deck on. And also remove the back bar which dangles from the back. I've had the thing for 3 days and broke it, I'm sure that's not a record, but probably well above average ;)
