Building all these Hydrasynth synthesizer sounds from scratch was quite a difficult task and took a lot longer than I had planned. But I finally completed these patches.
I referenced my own Sequential Prophet 5, and for the Moog Mini Moog and Roland Jupiter 8 used online videos and samples I had bought because unfortunately they are beyond reach right now. There are plenty of other sounds based on other classic analog synths in the sound pack too like ARP, Yamaha DX7 (not virtual analog but I couldn’t help a couple of FM classics) and the Roland Juno 60. I really tried to pick my favourite classic analog bass sounds to synthesize into virtual analog and only kept the very best ones. For this pack though I did clone a few of the same sound and make minor adjustments for big changes in sound as I thought it was well worth doing.
As I have said before, I hope you can learn from these sounds to advance your Hydrasynth programming skills, but also people that just want to play these sounds without all that hassle can get on and enjoy playing them and creating great music.
One thing I did learn is that if you use a second filter envelope you can add a very slight snap to the decay if used in combination with mod 2 filter envelopes but it is easy to overdo this, so be subtle is my advice in order to be more realistic.
You will be able to backwards engineer these sounds and learn all about them if you want to which is super cool.
I initially found bass sound design quite a struggle on the Hydrasynth to get the high quality result I was seeking, but learned a lot and am very happy with the results I achieved, always learning despite the 10 000 hours. :-)
