I have used the reef tank dosing method successfully to treat an outbreak of what looked like Ich and Brook. I had several fish showing signs of spots and brook, my Powderblue tang was the most affected. While I lost some fish because I started the treatment a little late, I am glad to say that most fish, including the Powderblue are now thriving. I used this approach with a UV set at a low flow. Sidenote: Expect that you will lose any ornamental shrimp such as Skunk cleaner shrimp. They do not tolerate H2O2 at all.

This is great! Just another tool to ensure fish are healthy and happy going into our very expensive and delicate systems!

Thanks for the information, new subscriber. My betta is lethargic and my tiny Tera’s have tiny little white spots. I had 4 cat fish and one died last week. I have a snail and two shrimp but I have not seen the pregnant shrimp one again for a week. Hope it alive. 👏😍

Thanks for the well played out video. I have a case of ich and/or velvet. Not sure but it has wiped all my fish but my blue tang. I will try this technique to see if it works. I have tried some of the other treatments but no success

You are an asset to all marine fish keepers. When ICH falls off fish would the hydrogen peroxide be effective at killing it during that free swim phase?
@HumblefishReef

@@hoohaaa0 I actually don’t think that peroxide is effective for killing Ich theronts, because the cell wall is too thick. A more realistic expectation is that H2O2 can eliminate Marine Velvet Disease and Brooklynella.

I’ve been using peroxide baths and hybrid TTM to cure velvet and ich with success. My cromis group had their two peroxide baths with TTM as well as a 3rd peroxide bath between going from QT to DT. Weeks later I’ve pulled them out due to one getting a red sore and a couple more having a dark mottling complexion. It’s hard to say but I would not rely on peroxide baths for internal uronema but it could help prevent spread and if it can clear a DT of uronema I would be super interested in a method for that. I’m currently trying tea tree and metro on my chromis but the red sore has not healed. I’ll be trying a formalin and malachite green medication next.

Please respond urgently! I just dosed the 1st 1ml per 8gal and my magnifica anemone completely retracted and does not look happy. Will the peroxide kill my anemone?

Have you looked into the efficacy of hydrogen peroxide dosing and it’s effects combating brown jelly disease in euphyllia?

Would the 30 min bath be effective for freshwater flukes on goldfish? Thanks a lot! Appreciate if you could answer 🧐🥺 Thank you!

@@kristinabarkovic4525 Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer to this. I’ve only experimented on treating saltwater flukes with H2O2. It doesn’t kill them all.

Can you use the saltwater from the tank the fish came from or this has to be a new fresh batch of saltwater?

You can you use saltwater from the tank the fish came from, provided no medications are in the water. Otherwise, I would use new saltwater to do the H2O2 bath.

Cool. Now I need to know how many Liters I need to buy for my tanks! What is the dosage for 1m³ (1000 Liters)? Can you put fish in lakes?

If you are wanting to treat in-tank (NOT a bath) then I would follow dosing instructions outlined here: humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/peroxide-h2o2-dosing-for-parasites-in-reef-tank.725/

@@linhnguyen-hk9ju Yes 👍 Provided the fish doesn’t have any red sores or cuts.
Unfortunately, I haven't done any experimentation with using H2O2 to treat Freshwater Ich. This is a pretty good forum for freshwater fish diseases so someone there may know: forum.aquariumcoop.com/forum/6-diseases/
