@Rexknopf 007 yeah, it is. Example? I went to buy a blacklight last week. Walmart had advertised a black light for parties and stuff, 18 inches long, 30$. Over in the lighting department, a 22 inch blacklight was 12$. The packaging, location in store, and most importantly, the price, was different between the two items. The same item marketed in different ways with different prices depending on how and where you found it. The 12$ blacklight is not even on their website.

We already have trouble using Adblock now (especially on Mobile) because of how locked-down and controlled they are. What makes you think you'll be able to "install adblock" on this thing if it's so controlled that you can only install stuff from THEIR app store, and they dont WANT you to block ads. Installing adblock is only a temporary workaround in a closed system. The system itself needs to be destroyed.

@Mr. Numbers I was making a political joke and wasn't actually being serious but the comment did involve my opinions so here you go. One thing though, what do you mean by 'why we should live'? No my criticism doesn't come from nowhere, the majority of religious people are taught as early as babies that God and the specific prophet are real. Children don't have the ability to have disbelief so whatever they hear becomes automatically true. Old people, mentally ill people etc are targeted all the time at home in hospitals or in public. The people who speak to these people know they are weak and fear monger them to believe. In theory I believe that a world where religion is not mentioned to children until they are adults would result in an extremely high amount of atheists. I'd like to point out that atheism wouldn't be mentioned either in my hypothetical world. Anyways I can't prove that nor would I encourage it to be done. What would you like to debate/ hear about?
@funnyname9679
5 жыл бұрын
@Mr. Numbers Thank you, your question could of had many meanings. I don't kill myself because life is an amazing experience, being aware of myself is something really special. I see the world materialistically but I always try and dumb myself down to view my emotions and the people around me intrinsically. We're lucky to be part of such a complicated atomic structure. It's not like I don't want something we can singularly live for, I'm always trying to learn about religion and convince myself to believe it. But it is so hard to believe in something that, in my opinion, doesn't make sense. My best bet is biocentrism but that still doesn't pose a good enough argument at the moment. I guess the scientific answer is that my brain has been structured to keep myself alive through evolution and nurture. Life is a beautiful and an amazing thing and to give up on it would just be a waste. Were you grown up religiously and what convinced you to believe? And is there another reason you live other than God?

If people really cannot stand to exist in this situation, they'll kill themselves. 3:57 Anyone else get struck by the clash of priorities that come to the surface here? The cry of a baby's cry is cancelled out for the barrage of carefully crafted, carefully controlled stimuli. The possibility of a baby crying because it's in real distress would likely be shut-out, too. So as we become more obsessed with worshiping an artificial interface we would become less in touch with other people inherently.
@MemeMarine
6 жыл бұрын
Look at you, on this artificial interface. No, that idea that as technology progresses we lose our humanity is just total nonsense. Brushing aside that *existing* noise-cancelling headphones can also drown out important audio stimuli like not only crying babies but, say, people screaming because their house is on fire, or being murdered, the internet has also brought us the ability to instantly communicate with people from literally anywhere worldwide, for free, instantly, via video if we want it to be (but we usually don't). It enables us to contact long-lost friends, even play with them from thousands of miles away. And for all the oppression it enables, it gives us the opportunity for even more freedom - hidden "dark" methods of communication can't be looked into like a letter can be opened, and avoiding the Gestapo has never been so easy. Why do you think tyrannical governments (e.g. China, the DPRK) wish to lock down the web? Ludditism is a common thread through history, and I'd be careful not to fall into long-laid traps if I were you.

It is dystopic but not entirely unrealistic. The major platforms that we use on the Internet, like Google, KZitem, Facebook, are funded by advertisements. If we would have some virtual glasses, I wonder how different it will be. Advertising is what funds the Internet. But this depiction makes the empty world of advertising even scarier. The funny thing is that it is not even that different from our lives now. We are already bombarded with empty advertisements in the city, only in this video they are shown as a virtual layer over our normal vision.

They're funded by ads because we let them be and because we don't care enough to pay for Facebook. If the advertisements became too annoying then (So long as, say, Facebook didn't hold an evil monopoly with force) some competitor that charged more but didn't have any stupid ads on their service/platform would succeed and surpass the shitty ad-filled services that previously existed. They'd need to make money somehow, so maybe they could just charge an upfront cost or subscription fee. But people will only put up with, well... however much they're willing to put up with. A world like this one just doesn't make sense.

@@Ignacio.Romero uh no its very poor design. a lot of things they show here should be filtered out and the color choices are horrible. also some of the UI is too intrusive and takes up too much of the persons view

@@Ignacio.Romero lol ik but i guess u didnt read my first message? i said this concept could work. its very easy to show the bad usage of a certain type of technology but doesnt mean it cant be used properly. just like guns, you can use them to commit crimes or use it for self defense. technology like this would have many uses if properly secured and managed.

The mac version of this wouldn't allow you to go certain places and restrict what body parts you're allowed to use, who you're allowed to talk to and control what you're going to do that day.

Marc D perhaps I haven't articulated myself correctly, excuse my lingual imperfection as English is not my native language and doesn't serve me at all times of need. My best guess of rephrasing my comment of earlier time would be to say that the feeling of missing something that was there before has gotten me. Have a nice later day.

Eden This is Colombia, a poor country. Maybe you are used to the views of a big town like New York for example. Now imagine all this mixed reality while you are amidst NY Time Square. I think my brain would blow a fuse.
