Best trimmer I ever put my money towards. Light weight, start right up and gave me no problem. Also can I say it’s only 68 dollars!!

Yup,I upgraded to electric everything, no more throwing a shoulder out pulling cords, or running a mile of extension cord.

I bought mine at Walmart on June 22, 2022 for $61. I liked that they were 22-inch and had a ¾ inch cutting width, an upgrade from my old ones of 18 and ¼ inch respectively. It worked fine at first. On June 24, 2023, I was trimming and hit some wire that was buried in an overgrown bush, but it seemed to recover pretty well. On July 3 I tried to trim a large bush and after a few minutes it stopped cutting, just buzzed. By shaking, tinkering, and cleaning out tiny leaves that were stuck in it, I managed to get it running, but only off and on. Later efforts to get it running worked only temporarily. Finally it completely stopped. A friend offered to troubleshoot it for me. He found that the teeth of one of the gears was badly worn away and couldn’t engage the bar So this didn’t even make the 2-year warranty. My almost 10-year-old Ryobi, which I’ve used longer and more ruggedly, is still going.

It's similar with harbor freight stuff, with light/medium duty they'll usually hold. Mine eventually crapped out due to the motor near the end of the 2 yr warrantee so I was covered. I ended up taking the parts from the hedge and weed trimmers and built another trimmer using the 40v motor and battery holder portion. I ended up going with a Kobalt as our Walmart didn't carry these units anymore.

I loved your video because I work for a lawn maintenance company and I got tired of dragging out cords that I ended up cutting up anyway. To solve that issue I bought the same thing you have and love it. I trimmed all day with it with freedom, all I had to do is swap batteries to the two stage 1 hour charger. This is light weight compared to the heavy gasoline powered one that never started for me anyway. This is priced quite reasonable and the batteries are not that expensive. Thanks for sharing 👍 and good luck to you with your project.

Yep, I've been switching all my stuff to battery powered tools and hadn't looked back. Chainsaws, hedge Trimmers, weed Trimmers, power tools, even push mowers, all battery powered. My next adventure might be breaking down the old batteries and rebuilding them with fresh 18650 batteries since that's all that's in them.

Thanks for your response. Yes the battery technology has improved and good luck to you with your battery rebuild. I've used mine today and it worked well. As we both agree it a pain in the ass dragging generators and cord around. Gasoline ones are just a bit heavy if you use it all day. I'm probably going to subscribe to look forward to more of you videos. Take care and good health to you.

For what they cost I'd say I got more than my money's worth, I ran the crap outta mine before it finally gave up the ghost. Of course I recycled it into another version of itself.

@@TheImprovisationCenter yep, I just tried it out, it’s not going to win any races, but it will definitely do what I need it to.
