Man, this saved me! All the Hyundai dealers were booked for 2weeks and I have vacation in 4 days. Needed the oil changed.. did in 45 mins! Very easy with your instructions.

Thank you for saying "I'm always looking for an oil pan leak, which is usually right around here." That tipped me off to the source of the leak when I went to do a first oil change and found oil all over the place. At first I thought it was a loose drain plug but because of your comment I looked more and found oil all over that seam.

Thank you for posting this. I just changed out the factory oil in my 2023 Santa Cruz SEL. I used O'Reilly's 0W-20 full synthetic and a WIX WL10514 filter.

I appreciate the recommend on the Wix Filter, bro. I'm using a Fram drive GF12811 (new metal gasket for drain plug in box) this time, but different retailers carry different brands. Always good to know the cross-references for other brands! Does the Wix also give you the spare, new gasket for the drain plug, with the filter?

Bought a filter at my Hyundai dealership for my 2024 Santa Cruz Limited. P# 26350 2S001. That's one number different than your filter number, but I don't know the actual difference in the part. It appears to be the same thing in the box. Could it be because it is the turbo? Mine also says 0W30 oil instead.

Nice just got a santa cruz 2 weeks ago. Need to do my 500 mile break in oil change. Gotta go to the dealer and pick up a filter. And I got in a hit and run with my new Hyundai. They got away. So ive been a little pissed. Insurance will cover it.

I wish more manufacturers were like Subaru, where they make top mounted oil filters, that way you don't have to get under the vehicle and there's no mess. Then instead of a drain plug you just use an oil extractor, and you can change your oil in a white suit if you want to.
@IceRhino44

Land rover also makes a top mount oil filter which is nice, but they also don't have drain plugs and you're required to suck the oil out of the dipstick tube. (2011 land rover lr4)
@WorldofTanksVideo

@@IceRhino44 this is generally how oil is changed in Europe they just use the vacuum pumps from the dipstick to extract the oil. I did a test myself and at least on a Fiat 500 you're not really missing any oil and get about 95% out.

My 2013 camaro filter is on too, super easy and clean to do. Seeing car oil filters on the bottom like these make me cringe.
@LonelyTigerGrowl

Remember you usually want to drive the car to heat up the oil then let it rest to cool a bit then change your oil. This helps the oil become viscous and thin out soothe of the oil will drain.

I took my Accent to the dealer once for a free oil change. I stated that I wanted 5W-20 oil since that was the recommended oil. I was assured by the service tech that's what I was going to get. When I looked at my receipt when I got home. It was 5W-30 oil. That and oil change shops forgetting to put in the oil or saying that they changed the oil filter but didn't causes me to DIY.

I have a 2023 Santa Cruz. After watching this video. I bought an oil filter and 27 mm socket to see if I could do the job myself. After going underneath yesterday. I've checked everything out and am certain I can do it. I've never had a vehicle with an oil filter like this. They were the spin on type. A screwdriver should go in between the head and the washer on the plastic tabs. To reinstall the plastic tabs. The washer has to be slid down and make the narrow enough to goes back through the hole.
