We have no idea what Hyundai's division has planned for breakfast when it comes to creating the new, intensely square-shaped look of the 2024 St. Nick Fe, but we believe there's more to that buffet than that. The new St. Nick Fe is ridiculously unique compared to the old model, as is granola from a fried egg. The improved one gets a third pillar with more rear load space and legroom. St Nick Fe's new addition is to attract outdoorsy people; This is the reason why the new SUV is used to mandate rooftop tents and therefore its wide rear end allows for larger experience equipment. The St Nick Fe is driven by a turbocharged 277-hp 2.5-liter inline-four engine with an eight-speed dual-clutch programmed transmission. There is also a St Nick Fe Blend, but we are researching this model independently.
The cost of the 2024 Hyundai St Nick Fe starts at $35,345 and goes up to $47,895 depending on trim and selections.
The strong outlook for the new St Nick Fe is accompanied by a large increase in initial cost resulting from the maturing active model. In fact, despite the cost increase, we predict the St Nick Fe will remain more affordable than the larger, three-pillar Hyundai Palisade. Among the St. Nick Fe's accessible trims, the SEL is the best value, offering nice-to-have features like heated front seats, built-in Wi-Fi, and remote cellphone charging without inflating the cost.
Every non-hybrid Hyundai St Nick Fe is powered by a turbocharged 277-hp 2.5-liter inline-four. Front-wheel drive and a programmed eight-speed dual-clutch are standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. During our most memorable test drive in South Korea with the Korean-spec St Nick Fe, we found that the boost in speed was adequate and that the super quads operated unobtrusively most of the time, talking under heavy throttle. Travel consolation is needed here, and the St Nick Fe we rode delivered much of it; It's not athletic to mess around with, but most three-line SUV buyers probably won't focus on such quality. If you are, we recommend checking out the Mazda CX-90, which offers three rows of seating in addition to an additional no-nonsense ride. We'll refresh this story with additional driving impressions and the results of our instrumented testing when we get the opportunity to drive the St Nick Fe on home turf.
Hyundai says the new St Nick Fe will actually want to tow up to 4500 pounds, but you'll need the mean-looking XRT trim with the optional tow package to unlock that extreme limit.
The EPA rates the front-wheel-drive St. Nick Fe to return 20 mpg city and 29 mpg parkway. Adding all-wheel drive drops the parkway number to 28 mpg, and going with the meaner XRT model drops mileage ratings to 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. Every time we try one out, we'll refresh this space with the results of our actual 75 mph real-life driving test. For more data on St Nick Fe's mileage, visit the EPA's site.
To keep the square-shaped force fields on the exterior, the key to the interior of the new St Nick Fe is the guiding bargain without too many handles. The rest of the area is symbolized by sensational square shapes. Prepared for rough terrain, the XRT fairing has a noticeable effect of boxes and solidity from the cockpit of the Land Meanderer Protector. On the first row there are various points for storing items. There's even enough room in the center control area for an accessible dual remote cell phone charger that can charge two phones. A wide-mouth passage below this area can fit a purse or backpack, and large compartments line the bottom of the entryway boards. The second- and third-row seats are positioned level, and there's even an ambient control lever to switch the air conditioning for those sitting as far back as possible. The third pillar isn't as wide as the larger Palisade's, but it will still fit kids and more modest adults fine and dandy. Hyundai says there is 14.6 cubic feet of space behind the third line when in use.
